    There's no rule against using one of those parabolic microphones to listen in on those hand-over-the-mouth conversations that happen at the mound. We all have ears. That's just better ears. Does that make it ok? In the grand scheme of things... not much difference between that and what the Sox were doing.

    They could still mathematically get into a 5-way tie for the 2nd wild card. Either team needs to win the rest of their games, have Colorado lose the rest of their games and have things break just right with StL, Mil, Mia, and Pit. Those teams have just few enough head to head matchups that three of them can end at 75 and the fourth one end at 74. I was annoyed that ESPN showed both teams at 0.1% playoff odds (which is basically saying "not zero") and I didn't believe it. Sure enough, it's possible. Ps. This counts the Rockies' probable win tonight (up 6, late).
