  1. Unless we really go for it with a free agent like JD Martinez, I think leaving the lineup as is, would be just fine. Man our lineup would be incredible with Martinez
  2. You know what I realized tonight? I missed Miguel Sano. He's back and it makes me happy. As Parker would say.... we can build this thing together!
  3. You choose one big offseason signing... Yu Darvish or JD Martinez? Dozier Mauer JD Martinez Rosario Sano Buxton Polanco Kepler Castro Holy Cow! Play ball! Eta: bench of Escobar, Granite, Garver, and maybe Vargas
  4. So... two innings for J.O?
  5. This Boyd cat has a big effing curveball
  6. I mean, it was crazy bad, but even Dick said "Giminez with another nice block" after the pitch. Having Gininez turn over like he was going to block the ball messed with everybody.
  7. I feel like it's going to make some sort of "worst calls of 2017 list" because that was a rediculous ball call
  8. I suspect the Twins, based on some relative recent player/draft success out of the PR market, saw a lot of value in playing some games in PR and were willing to give up a couple home games to make it happen. Step 2 was to find a team willing to play there, which the other team(s) was willing to do, but not at the cost of giving up a home game.
  9. "Back in the day" means 2010-11... so not THAT long ago
  10. Back in the day, every Tuesday at 9:00am they would release the unclaimed seats for the following week. I ended up getting some pretty sweet seats that way. Not sure how that would work in the postseason, but if I was looking for seats, I would go online every day at 9am and look.
  11. 1. Buxton 2. Rosario 3. Dozier 4. Santana 5. Mauer 6. Sano 7. Polanco 8. Berrios 9. Escobar 10. Gibby
  12. On the website it looks like they are just selling the ALDS tickets. So, it's a 2 game commitment.
  13. You have to pay for every possible game that theoretically could occur at Target Field, which is something like 11 games. Now, of course you'll be refunded when those games don't occur, but depending on your credit card situation, you might be pushing your credit limit. Game 163 Wild Card Game ALDS 2 games ALCS 3 games WS 4 games
  14. I think the argument lies with 4 or 5 teams. I mean it has to be at least 3 because there are 3 divisions and highly unbalanced schedules. You cant give the best team a bye past an entire series, so they need an opponent. I believe the setup that we have now is the best way to balance keeping interest up and also providing the best team with an advantage (while at the same time providing the worst teams with a disadvantage)
  15. What would MLB define as something that is good for baseball? More revenue, right? (which roughly translates into more people interested) That would have been an interesting angle for the article... analyze the revenue increase (or decrease) for a season or two after the "worst" playoff teams get to the world series compared to the "best" teams. You could even get a little more granular and do that same revenue analysis for the bottom 10 teams, which would show you if the success of the underdog means an increase in revenue for the teams that will be the biggest underdogs the following seasons.
  16. I always enjoy these posts. Thanks for doing them. Some of the pitchers were missed in the bullpen usage chart. I was wondering what Dozier WPA was, but for some reason the chart didn't have that info today
  17. That game had it all. What a win. Let's do the same thing next Tuesday.
  18. Foxtracks showed it was a strike
  19. The was the softest Bremergasm ever.
  20. Walks (when they are trying to give you outs) will haunt
  21. In a one game playoff shouldn't you always have someone warming up? I mean maybe not the first inning, but why wouldn't you Dylan Gee loose in the 2nd-4th innings just in case, then after than you always have one of your better releivers 3 minutes from ready to come into the game.
  22. If I'm the Cubs or Red Sox I don't celebrate clinching the 2nd wild card spot, but if I'm a team that lost 103 games last year and is full of young players, you're damn right I celebrate.
