  1. Prielipp isn’t eligible to come off the IL until Thursday or Friday.
  2. Nance dominating the “walk the first batter you face” leaderboard. Let’s see if he can keep it up over a larger sample.
  3. The good news is that the Twins most likely won’t give up a run in all 9 innings to tie the major league record.
  4. I know players can’t be expected to hit every mistake pitch, but man, it feels like we’ve fouled back a lot of meatballs in the last dozen or so games.
  5. I always wonder in this situation if the poster is watching the game or if you just see online there was a triple to RF by Lee.
  6. “Worst” can mean a few different things. I believe if we look at purely mathematically (win/loss percentage), my statement is true. But the meaningful sample there is quite small, because up until interleague play started, it was always 50%. Then as interleague play trickled in, it could only barely deviate from 50%. Now with roughly 30% of everyone’s schedule being against the other league, those percentages can start to get a little whackier. And this year they have. The NL is destroying the AL in interleague. So mathematically, it’s true. The AL has never been worse. And that matters for the wild card. But what I’ve typed above can be true and there could still be a couple really good teams. A team or two that feel inevitable to reach the ALCS. This year I just don’t see that. Of the (subjectively) 10 best teams in the league, probably 3 of them are in the AL. And are any of those 3 in the top 5? Maybe. But barely. That’s more what I meant when I said it’s the worst it’s ever been.
  7. You’re right. Last part wasn’t necessary. I was trying to make a point about competitiveness vs contention but it didn’t work.
  8. Right when Gleeman and the Geek started talking about the Cleveland series, I pulled up behind this guy. We’ll know after tonight whether it was a good sign or a bad sign
  9. Whoever we trade for, I hope they are from an atrocious underachieving organization like the Mets or Angels.
  10. I don't think that those 4 prospects (or any prospects) are ever really untouchable, but at the same time, I don't believe they should be touched right now. If, for the sake of argument, we were 57-43 right now and felt like we were one SP and one big bat away from being the AL favorite, then anyone is on the table in the right deal. But we're not 57-43. We're 49-51 and clinging to playoff relevance, so yes, there are some guys that are "2026 untouchable" But at the same time, I'm going to disagree with some people in this thread that don't want to see ANY assets moved away at the deadline for marginal 2026 improvement and are still interested in the idea of selling assets. I understand your points. I just don't agree with that philosophy under the current circumstances. I believe that: There are difficult to quantify benefits to having your franchise play meaningful baseball in September and October, and Generally speaking, odd stuff can happen over small samples (the playoffs). If the threshold for pushing our chips in the middle is "I think we're as good as the Dodgers," then we're never pushing.
  11. One reason to push a few more chips in the table this year compared to other years with a similar team is that, yeah, we've got flaws, but so does EVERYONE in the AL. The AL is the worst it's ever been. An average team who's playing half decent could win this league.
  12. If we assume Jeffers is gone in 2027, which is likely but not 100%... 2027 - Caratini (7M) + Jackson (Arb2) 2028 - Lackey (Rookie) + Jackson (Arb3) 2029 - Lackey (Rookie) + Tinney/Tait (Rookie) That assumes things go pretty well on the prospect side, but none of that feels too crazy.
  13. There are of course other factors that play into calling a guy up, but if the Twins were simply trying to field the best 13 man lineup, he would be in a Twins uniform. Jackson would go (I understand why he's on the roster) Gray would go (I don't understand why he's on the roster) Martin would go Buxton off the IL Jenkins called up Arcia called back up As soon as Culpepper is healthy, he replaces Arcia
  14. For me, it sounds like he’s trying to talk deeper than his natural voice. Maybe he is. Maybe he isn’t. But that’s what his voice sounds like to me. The deliberateness you mention probably also plays a part.
  15. The Cubs have like 8 balls hit within 5ft of the foul line this series
  16. Bell playing it conservative was fine. PCA wasn’t THAT far away from catching it. But then trying to score was the real head scratcher. He also should’ve tried a little harder to get in a run down so that Lee could get back to 1st base.
  17. He definitely gets a big slice of blame, but Brooks gets some too. The worst part is none of their runs mattered, which is why I’m assuming Bell played it super conservatively
  18. Not sure I agree. It was a tiny bobble and they weren’t that close to getting Swanson.
  19. I was to blame here. I had 2 outfield fantasy baseball injuries (including Buxton) so I picked up Kody as a stopgap. O-fer since the pickup until that HR
  20. 1:20 start? I thought it was 1:10! 😡 I hate this 10 minutes!
