    I knew of the potential strike, but I don't really know what workers are under the same umbrella. Does Truly-on-Deck fall under the same umbrella? How about the people selling concessions in the stands?

    Walking the leadoff guy wasn’t great. But yeah, the pie chart of blame for that inning is something like CP: 20% TG: 45% LK: 15% BL: 20%

    For what it's worth I can't find a Tom Pohlad quote with any version of "contend" in it. I've found: "exceed expectations" "be competitive" "That's ridiculous" (related to the 72.5 O/U)

    I'm curious to see the exact Pohlad quote. It might seem like splitting hairs, but I wonder if he said "contender" or "contend for a playoff spot" I feel like we've been down this road before, but what would you consider a successful 2026 Twins season to look like?

    The good news about having such a terrible bullpen is how easy/cheap it would be to upgrade it. Dodgers can't say that. They need to acquire premium talent for just a marginal upgrade. Advantage Twins!

    Perhaps Tom's confidence came, not from powerful confidence in his own team, but his deep knowledge of the AL and how bad they would be as a whole. Tom Pohlad, AL Whisperer. /s

    For me, if the Twins are really out of it (let’s say 8 or more under .500), then I’m trading Jeffers almost no matter what. Just get the best package you can. Catcher is going to need attention in 2027 no matter what happens. If the Twins are within, say, 3 games of the last wildcard spot, then I’m just riding it out with Jeffers unless some absolutely crazy package gets offered.

    Random Buxton trade thought (besides “I’m thoroughly against it)… With such a large percentage of his total potential compensation tied to MVP voting results, it would be really detrimental (financially) for him to accept a midseason trade to the NL. It would remove almost any chance of that bonus triggering.

    Since we're doing hypothetical thought exercises... Would you trade Ryan Jeffers straight up for Connor Wong. I'm ignoring the fact that Boston wouldn't have interest in a 2 month rental of Ryan Jeffers. But purely from a Twins perspective, would you rather have Ryan Jeffers for the rest of this season or Connor Wong potentially through 2028? Said another way, could we flip whatever trade package we get for Jeffers and get Wong with those same prospects?

    Playing both sides of the fence is rarely the right choice. Either sell at the deadline (Jeffers and Larnach for sure, with Ryan being a maybe), or add a few relievers on low wattage deals. Anything in between just feels silly.

    I mean, a top 100 prospect for a 2 month rental feels like asking for the moon.

    I'd be cool with Lagrange (the lowest ranked of those you listed) for a Jeffers rental

    Based on Caratini's contract, I'd be really surprised if some team traded for him. But hey, if we can offload it and not eat some of the money, then by all means, do it.

    I generally like variety, so in a small sample I'll take just about anyone. Caserta was fine. I think he and Plouffe are cut from the same cloth, so I think they work well together, but that style isn't really what I'm looking for in a broadcast. I think Provus does a good job of balancing out Plouffe's "morning sports talk" vibe, so if it was any more than a handful of games of Caserta and Plouffe, I'd probably grow tired of it. I'll be glad to have Provus back next week, but wont be complaining about the temporary fill in the rest of the week.

    They are ranked on probable impact on their new team (Skubal is #1) #2 - Buxton (30% Chance of Being traded) #4 - Ryan - (55%) #21 - Jeffers (85%) #46 - Larnach (no percentages past the top 25) #55 - Rodgers #70 - Bell #77 - Caratini #94 - Banda I think I agree with most of this. Buxton's percentage seems high, but maybe that's just wishful thinking by me.
