  1. Bottom line: This series should not have even been a contest. The Marlins had no business scoring even one run in this series let alone 10.
  2. It cost us because we then proceeded to use Rogers and didn't go with Rogers to start the ninth today as we would have if he had not pitched yesterday. Sometimes it's best to not be cute, just let a guy finish what he starts.
  3. The reason why this was not a sweep? Because Berrios was taken out of a game that he was totally dominating for 7 innings with only 80 pitches thrown. Maybe I'm old school, but when a pitcher throws a complete game, it really gives his team a boost. I get the idea that baseball is a team sport, but sometimes it's okay to allow one guy to steal the show. Berrios was pitching his best game of the year, (I thought he might even throw a no-hitter), and then you take him out of the game? Well, that decision cost us a badly needed win in today's game, in my opinion.
  4. I wonder if Blyleven was biting his tongue in the last inning when things began to spiral out of control? There was really no need to take Berrios out of the game. It was an unnecessary risk in a very important game.
  5. The Mets are really taking it to us. First they take two games that really, REALLY hurt us after a successful series against Cleveland, then they take the starter, Stroman, that we really needed, and now they want to take Buxton from us along with our best prospects. I think we need to just stay away from the Mets!
  6. We definitely should have knocked the door down on Stroman. Should have went bold on him.
  7. I don't trust Berrios in a must win situation. I certainly don't trust Gibson in a must win situation. Odorizzi is a definite no-go in a must win situation. Not sure about Pineda. Perez? No, of course not. Even though I am not a huge fan of Buxton, that is about the biggest joke to be asking for him.
  8. Now that was a classic Twins game that we are hoping to see a lot in the next 2 months!
  9. Curse of the Yankees yet again! If my memory serves me right, Super Nova came up with the Yankees!
  10. Holy smokes. They ended that inning so fast I couldn't even write my post fast enough to see the end of the game.
  11. This is the worst offensive game of the year for the Twins. I wonder if they took the White Sox for granted a bit after 2 lobsided games.
  12. Yes! If we lose this division by taking 3 out of 4 in every series then so be it.
  13. Looks like we got a solid pitcher prospect that can bring the heat for him. We have glaring holes in pitching in our system and several great prospects in the infield.
  14. Honestly, I have never heard of Lewin Diaz before tonight. I'm sure you all will laugh me to scorn but honestly, I've not heard anything about him. And I'm not a casual fan, by any means. I never miss a game.
  15. The great myth of this year is that the Twins have been playing poorly since early June. That's not really the case. I don't think I have ever seen a team do what Cleveland has done in these last two months. It's Cleveland, not the Twins.
  16. We haven't played terribly. But when you're competing against a team that is on a HISTORIC RUN like Cleveland, what can you do? What Cleveland is doing, is insane. Even if Cleveland had only played Detroit for 40 STRAIGHT GAMES, they should not be playing at that clip.
  17. Throws a rookie into a close 2 run game in a very important game. What could go wrong, right guys?
  18. In the league where almost all of the runs for the night are scored in one inning. Frankly, last night's game was hard to watch after the 2nd inning.
  19. For the record, we hit like crap last night too. So it's not too terribly surprising what we are seeing tonight.
  20. That's what is so crazy about the run that Cleveland is on. You would think they would face a hot pitcher even once every 10 games, wouldn't you?
  21. Every team has a bad game once in a while. Except for Cleveland which hasn't lost since the early days of the Great Depression.
  22. Boy I am sure glad Perez walked the feared Wellington Castillo. I'll tell you what, this guy can hit. .179 batting average. Need to watch out for guys like that.
  23. Was not expecting a 4 game sweep of the White Sox in Chicago anyways. I don't know what in the world is going on with Cleveland, but every other team in MLB rarely can sweep a 4 game series on the road. It's hard to do.
  24. Nova pitching a great game tonight. There's a reason he has been in the league this long. Any veteran at any given night can do a solid job.
  25. Happy days are back! Time to forget about that Yankees series and destroy the White Sox. I was worried with Giolito on the mound. I was surprised we hit him that hard. Go Twins!
