  1. I remember when ESPN used to have a Twins site fan forum! I was on that forum constantly. Circa 2001!
  2. Sorry. Just a little more excited when we play the Yankees.
  3. Provided we score another 4 runs, I agree!
  4. The Yankees are held scoreless. Do you believe in MIRACLES???...YES!!!
  5. Yankees: "You will LOSE!" Thorpe: "Yes, sir. But sir may I have some more please?"
  6. I never heard this. Whoever said it ought to be fired. That's as dumb a statement one can make from the front office.
  7. Can you imagine Blake Parker against the Yankees! Titanic anyone?
  8. Grandfather says to Grandson: "Son, I struck out Miguel Sano! Think of it! Miguel Sano!" Grandson to Grandfather: "That's nothing. I learned how to tie my shoes yesterday." Grandfather: "Yes, I suppose that is more impressive. Well done, my boy."
  9. And Sano strikes out. Years from now, when men look into the great archives the great line shall be inscribed on the Great Tablet of Stone: SANO STRUCK OUT!
  10. OKAY, let's get an insurance grand slam!
  11. Ma Duffey: "What's the matter Tyler, are you afraid of the bullies from the Bronx?" Tyler: "Ma. Please. Get me a train ticket to Rochester this instant."
  12. And next up is Tyler Duffey. He has a career ERA of a paltry 8.50 against the American League All-Star te...I mean Yankees.
  13. Prediction for tonights' score: Minnesota 18 New York 14
  14. I will admit, this surprises me against Sabathia. WE NEVER HIT SABATHIA! It's been like 10 years since we had a good game against Sabathia.
  15. Just because you play catcher does not mean you should be in the Hall of Fame for hitting 2100 hits and leading not even ONE team to a playoff series victory. Hall of Famers are team leaders. The most memorable playoff moment for Mauer is the double that he hit that was called foul.
  16. I should say, "but in the end, Baines SHOULDN'T be a Hall of Famer."
  17. For the record, Harold Baines was not a generational player. Really good player, yes. Probably the one hitter in all baseball that I dreaded seeing come up against the Twins. Will Clark, (with the Rangers), and Harold Baines were the two players that I would say, "uh-oh" when they came up to bat against the Twins. But in the end, neither Baines or Clark are Hall of Famers. Mauer simply did not have a legendary career. And legendary is what it OUGHT to take to be a Hall of Famer.
  18. Mauer took the first pitch almost always. As a result, the pitcher almost always threw the first pitch down the middle for a strike. To me, that had to be the stupidest strategy that I have ever seen any MLB player take in the history of the game. Had Mauer swung at first pitches, there's no question he would have gotten at least 500 more hits in his career. To the other poster, there is no way that Mauer gets in the Hall of Fame. A Hall of Fame player is a generational player, not a player that dominates for 4 or 5 years. If Mauer gets in, then the Hall of Fame is a joke.
  19. I would be interested in seeing just how many of those pitches were thrown to Arraez! A LOT! Plus Sano has actually started to look like a Major League hitter in this series as well. The others have had a disastrous series.
  20. To be honest, I am more encouraged when Sano walks than even when he hits a home run. If this guy EVER figures out pitches and the strike zone, he will become a force to be reckoned with. If he starts hitting the ball the other way for doubles, I will also be very happy. One thing is for certain: Sano will either go down in history as Butch Huskey Jr. or a fearsome, great hitter. Today was the most encouraged I have been this season with Sano.
