No, it will not mean that the right move was made. This is about not letting Gray pitch the 8th, not whether Gray or Duran would get the 9th with a lead. That is a poor way to look at it. Just because something works out in your favor doesn't mean the right decision(s) were made - as I stated before, Gray is allowing a .700 OPS the 3rd time through an order.

The bottom 1/3rd of the Cleveland order was due up as well - I am taking my chances that Gray can get through that part of the order.

He's literally thrown 6 innings total between the 7th-9th innings. If you or Rocco have seen that Gray is guaranteed to blow up late in games based on 6 innings, I want to hire you to predict my future.

Also - Rocco pulling his starter, who was pitching a shutout and dealing, at 81 pitches through 7 innings is peak Rocco idiocy. Managing malpractice.

Regardless of them getting out of the 8th with a lead, this bullpen is a big problem moving forward.
