    Buxton is simply not a good hitter. Good hitters don’t have at bats like that. Regardless of the circumstances or pitcher they’re facing. Buxton has ABs like that every other game at best.

    It can’t be overstated that the twins pitching holding the Dodgers to four runs a game with our three, four, and five starters pitching, and a current makeshift bullpen is pretty wonderful. The Dodgers had been averaging six runs a game before that I still would love some more starting pitching, but at the very least this bullpen is going to be absolutely dominant when healthy.

    Agreed. I’d much rather be a fan of a team like the twins where the owners actively try not to win a World Series because saving 30 million is more important

    It would be so nice if Miranda can hit and play third against those lefty starters at minimum. Castro is so bad from the right side and the other options aren’t any good

    At this point I hope that Raleigh (where I live) is awarded a team in the next 5+ years I don’t think I can continue to be a fan of a Pohlad owned team forever

    I truly hope they’re bad this year. It sounds awful I know, but we can’t let Joe Pohlad get away with this. If they make the playoffs and lost in the wild card round then the Pohlad’s will see that as a good season.

    How is Popkins still the hitting coach? The bats have gone thought these streaks every year. It’s absolutely embarrassing

    Because outside of a few awesome walkoff HRs we all remember, he really only produces hits in less meaningful spots.

    Buxton is at .143 with RISP over the past 2 years. His pull rates sky rocket in those situations and his BABIP shrunk to .086 last year. I haven’t been a fan of buxtons home run or nothing approach that he’s had the past 2+ years but when there’s runners in scoring position, as long as you don’t throw anything near the zone, he’s certain to strike out or product weak contact. Any playoff caliber pitcher knows to exploit that.

    I’ll say it again, buxtons batting average is .142 now with runners in scoring position over the past 2 years. the only RBIs he gets are from solo shots. He turns into the most undisciplined and dumb hitter in the league when guys are in scoring position

    His metrics were pretty brutal last year as well. Expected ops in the .600s. He had a lot of luck
