  1. Highly unlikely we’d go for another big bat when our remaining payroll is probably peanuts. I could see them shelling out maybe a few more million for another arm but not more than that. I’d love to be wrong.
  2. Jack Morris, followed closely by Bert
  3. Baseball fields are private venues. I would assume as long as fans aren't there that law wouldn't apply.
  4. I mean the reason people may have never realized / forgotten trades happen the day of the deadline is because the Twins (current FO, past FO, whatever) haven't been buyers in a long time.
  5. We're gonna make more moves, right? With all the DFAing we've done in our bullpen these past weeks, that has to be what we're up to, right? We're not gonna go with just Romo, right? Right??
  6. Pass through waivers? I doubt it, honestly. With the glimpses of brilliance he has had in the past, I think there's a club out there who would take a chance on him.
  7. That's overstating it a bit, don't you think? Schoop is a slightly above average batter, and a slightly above average fielder. Given a larger sample size from Arraez, I think we'd see his slugging percentage dip below Schoop's. And Schoop is a better defender (his arm is *clearly* better).
  8. This is hilarious! Interesting choice to write it in the second person. It worked.
  9. Agreed. Similar noises had been made about Gonzalez and Castro at the end of April, and they've both turned around well.
  10. Brusdar is in Minneapolis today. I wonder why...
  11. My goodness, what a pleasant surprise this kid has been. With his minor league numbers, I figured he could do well in the bigs, but going 7-12 is damn impressive. I hope we see him in the lineup again tonight. Question is, what's the right move to make once Cruz gets healthy? Who's going down? I figure it will probably be Arraez, but it sucks to see him go.
  12. I think I'll take the...over? It's tough to say. Some days I have a lot of confidence (like when we won our third game at home over the Astros), and other days I feel like the other shoe is about to drop (watching our bullpen barely hang onto wins in the Angels series). I'm nervous, but I feel like the talent is there, especially in our lineup. If we're still able to pummel bad teams like the Mariners when two of our top sluggers are out of the lineup, that tells me we're going to continue to win games division-contenders should win. I think I'll start to calm down more when I see us win more series against Cleveland. A sweep against them the next time we see them would be really nice. We still need another strong bullpen arm, though. I submit that we find a different #5 starter and move Pineda to the bullpen. He's been lights out the first time through the order. Let's move that success of his to higher-leverage late innings!
  13. Including today's game, that is. I wonder what Rocco's rationale is here. Not trying to be overly critical, just genuinely curious.
  14. This is probably just a personal defect, but it seems like after every loss so far this season I get the sinking feeling that we're going to keep doing poorly.
  15. I hope this is what they do. It seems like he’s ready(?) But Rocco appears to be erring in the side of caution when it comes to players’ readiness.
  16. I read from a reporter or someone in the know on Twitter that Perez said he’d be available for Sunday.
  17. Damn, I had just sat down to buy some of those $5.00 flash sale tickets, and they got swooped up *real* quick. Being a devout but poor Twins fan sucks, haha. Oh well. At least there will be more people at the May home games. Go Twins!
