    My theory - the Twins expected him to get scooped up for more dough by a team with deeper pockets than the Twins. Time passed, he was still available, they made an offer and were rewarded. I know the Polhads are cheap, but will they sweat a million or so? If Jackson agrees to be AAA depth, so much the better.

    Age old question: how many shortstops do you need to spend a high draft pick on to find a winner? From Levi Michael to Marek Houston, and Lee, Culpepper, Lewis in between. Sheesh, draft a pitcher.

    I'd wager that if the Twins knew Caratini would be available to them, they wouldn't have bothered with Jackson.

    As one of 5 brothers, we aren't all the same - far from it; many different skills can lurk beneath the same name. Joe flopped in this role. Tom might be great. Who knows? Willing to give him a chance, and not hold his last name against him.

    So thankful to have a local franchise willing to go for it, and I mean the Wild. How did the Twins become the poor boys, with their own new stadium and all the revenue streams the Metrodome deprived them of? Half a billion of debt? I call BS.

    The Twins best era was primarily draft and develop, then add as necessary. 87, 91. I HATE slowing prospects down and playing middling vets from other organizations instead. Jenkins should be a Twin next year, and Raya, Prielipp, Gonzales, maybe even Culpepper. Tired of stopgap lineups of AAAA players. Play the prospects: you might be pleasantly surprised. If not, more top end talent will be coming in. If you aren't willing to pay to play, this is the best answer.

    Seeing El Tiante in a Twins uniform is as weird as seeing David Ortiz in one.

    At least we don't have to feel bad about missing on Yesavage; he was drafted one slot ahead of Culpepper. 2024 might end up being a legendary draft. All the top picks look the role, Nick Kurtz? Chase Burns?

    I'd expect one of Matthews, Festa, or, crazy idea, Woods-Richardson. The latter doesn't go deep too often, tends to start games well. What could he do unleashed for an inning?

    Jenkins hitting over .300 and with an OPS over 900 as a 20 year old in AA, that's star stuff.

    The three teams in the Wild Card spots right now are Twins, Guardians, Royals. A few years ago who would have predicted the AL Central as a powerhouse division? Last year it was a surprise; now, a trend? And it ain't just beating up on the White Sox.

    I took a look at the boxscore, saw Keaschall's line, and knew right away bad news was awaiting. Pretty crazy the variety and severity of injuries that plague this team.

    Fun fact: if the Twins win tomorrow and Cleveland, Detroit and KC lose, they will be tied for first in the division.

    Ordinarily not rooting for division opponents, but I make an exception in this case, Watching tonight's game in extra innings, and Detroit just took a 2 run lead. Gotta say, Tommy Erdman at 2b for LA made 3 outstanding plays in the 9th inning to keep it tied, including a crazy gun down of our old friend Manuel Margot at the plate.

    This website confuses me. One day a writer will say XXXXX is a dud, a couple days later columnist YYYYY will say such player could be a star, all for the same reasons.
