  1. Hildenberger shouldn't be anywhere near a 2019 playoff roster. Give him some very low leverage outings to see if he has adjusted his frisbees to a league that has him figured out, but that's about it.
  2. I think it's possible, but Max would have to take another leap in a few areas. Yelich hitting 'em where they ain't is a great point. Kepler has done this in flashes. See his go ahead two-run single on Labor Day and his walk-off single against Liam Hendriks on July 21. The base-stealing is going to be a tough area, because the team approach may not lend itself to that development. Kepler should continue to improve, but some of Yelich's numbers may be a tall order. However, his defensive superiority could get him somewhat close.
  3. Maybe he will be of use in the Nats series. They haven't seen him live. They also need a pitcher to serve up a "we still love you" pitch to Dozier at some point in the series
  4. What's the over/under on quality starts from Twins starters the rest of the season? 2.5?
  5. Stu was already stretching reality with the zombie uprisings. That would have been too fantastic.
  6. The emergence of Duffey and May has been a really nice add to the late season push. I want to see them in high leverage against Boston, Cleveland and Washington to really feel confident.
  7. I don't see the Angels, Oakland or St. Louis as viable trade partners. The Angels need pitching, not outfielders. Oakland and St. Louis just aren't going to value someone like Rosario.
  8. Marwin Gonzalez at Free Safety - He has to roam around and cover for the others. (Stretch Here, but ... ) Trevor May at Linebacker - All that talking to himself makes me sometimes think he's got the crazies like Romanowski
  9. Tyler and Taylor will be circling May 4-6 next season, provided they both stay healthy and Tyler makes the cut. I don't thing Taylor has to worry about making the cut, being a top 5 reliever in all of baseball.
  10. It was either Morris or Blyleven that stated something about Littell's fastball not playing as a starter at this level. His off-speed offerings are good, but his fastball plays better in the bullpen where he can just let it fly and not worry about saving anything for the 3rd-6th innings. With that said, I would be OK with FO planning that Littell will be one of the five core relievers next year. You have to leap with some of these guys, and I think Littell is a good bet. Rogers, Dyson, Duffey, May, Littell is a good start for the 2019 bullpen. I would say they need to get another lefty, but is that really going to be important with the 3 batter rule?
  11. The Twins will have to play way better than they did against Detroit, or this is going to be another lost series. Giolito is turning into the best starting pitcher in the division (I see you blushing, Bieber), and Dylan Cease is starting to figure it out (he has all the talent necessary to slot in right behind Giolito). Extra outs and bases handed over by the defense just aren't an option.
  12. I agree, but the title of the article was definitely leaning toward the very high expectation. I'm not going to do that, especially with my current string of luck.
  13. The Twins definitely need something like this to happen, but I'm not going to bank on it. I'll be happy to see him called up, but I'm not going to get giddy about some possible Price or K-Rod-esque playoff performance. Asking for a 5-1 homestand against Chicago and Detroit seemed much more reasonable, and we can't even have something nice like that. If I start wishing for a Graterol-led miracle, he'll probably come up and blow out his elbow two pitches in. This is all my fault. I went to the one game that they lost to Detroit, and I lost Sale, Tatis, Lowe, Anderson and now probably Peralta to season ending injures in basically one week of fantasy baseball. Maybe I should start wearing palehose and pinstripes and putting feathers in my hair .... Then the Twins can start winning and all the rivals and other playoff chasers can get some of this evil mojo.
  14. Really disappointing week. Needed a rally on Saturday just to scrape to .500 for the week against two teams that have already thrown in the towel. Looking at those uniforms all weekend just made it worse.
  15. I was just gifted a "Crony" shirt at the gate, so I guess that's my favorite now. Apparently, there is a referendum that I'm supposed to vote in favor of .....
  16. I don't think any of the names hold a candle to "Boomstick" or "La Makina". "La Regadera" doesn't roll quite as smoothly, but it might grow on me. I can roll my r's about as well or slightly worse than Dick Bremer, so I could see this one being higher on the list for someone more skilled in Spanish phonetics. I like Caveman and Garv Sauce (I'm surprised they aren't marketing bottles of hot sauce yet). Pass on the rest.
  17. On top of that ... Berrios can ill-afford another dud, especially against this team
  18. It would be great if Bailey Ober can finish out the year healthy. He deals when he's not on the trainer's table. He obviously has command of the zone and those 12 Ks were all of the swinging variety (one foul tip). 76/96 strikes/pitches. Incredible.
  19. Francisco Lindor agrees that he should be called back up before the next series against Cleveland.
  20. As long as a no team latches on to Baby Shark, those types of traditions are welcome when I go to a stadium.
  21. Your whole take is great, but this is the best part of it. It's the seventh inning stretch. Let's all get up stretch and sing a fun, traditional song about the wonder of a baseball game together.
