  1. Career BA is not a good comparison. Nobody cares about batting average anymore.
  2. Would you trade Berrios for Snell, straight up? Not sure either team would do that but it's intriguing. Twins get 3 years of starting pitching instead of 2. Berrios is looking like he won't sign an extension. Rays save money. Twins get upside and take on risk.
  3. If the Rays want to save money, why not offer Berrios for Snell? They wouldn't do it straight up, but if the Twins threw in salary relief or one of Astudillo, Celestino, Cavaco or Gabriel Maciel? Twins get 3 years of a SP instead of 2. Twins get higher upside and take on way more risk. Not sure I would even do that, since Berrios is a more proven commodity. Snell could be a trainwreck or he could be, well, he won a Cy Young.
  4. Sorry, but Rosario has not been the Twins best outfielder. He is a slightly above average corner outfielder. In 3 of the last 4 years both Buxton and Kepler had higher WAR than Rosario did despite Buxton playing in fewer games. Kiriloff can replace Rosario's numbers or exceed them if he stays on the field. Rooker would be a defensive downgrade even from Rosie if he played every day. I'm sure they'll go with Kiriloff.
  5. It happens pretty much every year. Last year, Yordan Alvarez Ops'ed over 1000 and hit 27 homers in 87 games. In 2017, some guy named Aaron Judge hit 52 homers as a rookie and should have won the MVP.
  6. Easy. Tony Oliva. Well, Mauer would be in that discussion as well but I think he'll get in.
  7. Story is an absolute 2 way star, but do you really want to give up Berrios, Arraez or Kiriloff to get one year of Trevor Story (at 14 million)? He's a FA after 2021.
  8. Wouldn't this be like if the Twins hired TK as the manager?
  9. I don't know, I was pretty pumped when the Twins signed him but I thought he had his calf issues figured out. When he played, he was as good as expected. I fully expect him to be the leader of this team when Cruz is gone.
  10. Bauer will be way more than 30 million unless we're signing him to a 6 year/180 million dollar deal, which I highly doubt he would accept. Would you offer him 1 year at 43 million?
  11. Bauer is certainly going to require more than 30-35 mil if he takes a one year deal. There are probably ten teams that will offer him more than that. 43 mil for a one year deal seems about right. You want the Twins to offer that?
  12. Donaldson's contract definitely has negative value at this point.
  13. I appreciated Jake's comments after the game, but also got the underlying messages that he is sorry for the fans, sorry that he could not help this year, and sorry to see the organization fail again. This was the most excited I've ever been for a mlb season. I went to five ST games. Spent way too much time on Twinsdaily and the athletic. Now I'm realizing I should probably not be so attached to this team.
  14. Good quick way to get out of the bubble.
  15. This is why Berrios will not sign an extension.
  16. The Rays and pretty much every NL team will be interested if there is a universal DH. So I'd agree with you.
  17. Disagree. He will not retire. I'd bet on him OPS'ing at least .850 next year. Multiple teams will want him.
  18. It's not in the manager's office. It's the same thing the Vikings and Timberwolves have. The wolves are arguably the worst run professional sports franchise. It's only arguable because of the Cleveland Browns.
  19. I just don't get the bullpen usage. Why pull Berrios very early when he is pitching well and you used the good relievers yesterday? Why use Duffey and Rogers when both are bad pitching back to back days?
  20. That pitch is off but Berrios has been getting that call. Hard to score runs if you don't swing the bat.
  21. I will lose a lot of respect for Rocco if he takes Jose out. I just don't get it.
  22. I wouldn't take him out until at least the 8th. Dude is fired up rn and hitting spots.
  23. Bauer absolutely shoving. Would look good in a Twins uni next year.
  24. How is everyone missing fastballs right down the middle?
