  1. Late in the season if Kiriloff ever get's called up due to someone else getting injured I bet it will be like Arraez where they will find someone else to send down cuz he will stick. Larnach could as well but would be tough to figure out how to keep both of them up at the same time this year. I look for both of them to be fixtures with the club in 2021 meaning at least (one) someone will need to get traded. I think we entertained trading that someone this off season
  2. Wow!!! There is a lot of pushback to this article. Most are saying don't do anything to mess up his current hitting approach. I completely understand the concern but I think extra power will come naturally for him through the years as his body matures and his hitting skills are honed. So even if you don't change his swing he's going to hit more home runs. We should look at any home run he hits as a gift and as he matures I think if will be a gift that keeps on giving ..
  3. Of all the minor leaguers who got their shot in the bigs last year his stuff really popped out at me. Or should I say Poppened out at me If he can corral his control issues his stuff could be electric out of the pen ..
  4. How about this for our 2020 hitting lineup to start 2022 .. Outfield Kepler Buxton Larnach Kiriloff (OF/1B) Infield Donaldson Sano Palanco Arraez Utility Lewis Gordon DH Rooker Cather Garver Jeffries
  5. Kirilloff had an injury plagued year. I have no concerns about him whatsoever.
  6. Let's face facts. Todate, the Twins have been much better at developing their own prospects than trading for talent. So far that is ...
  7. I see no reason Balasovic (not mentioned in this article) Duran and Corina won't make it to the majors late 2021 or 2022 at the latest. As for Alcala, it just depends on his control. Romero is another one that control will most likely keep him from sticking. I cringe every time Romero takes the mound.
  8. The problem with Cave is by possibly as early as late this year he has no place in our long term plans. Krilloff, Larnach, Rooker are knocking on the door. Cave plays a little too out of control always trying to be the hero. Makes bad decisions in the outfield especially when it comes to where and when to throw the ball. People forget about Rosario's arm although he started to make bad throwing decisions last year as well. If I had to guess I would say neither Rosario or Cave will be with the Twins next year ...
  9. Did he really think the Twins gave up their 3rd best prospect and more to bring him in as a set up guy? Sounds like one humble guy
  10. Simply tells me our managers, manager of the year trophy was earned ..
  11. Potentially having to learn how to say his name makes me want to trade him For now, I'm going to pretend he isn't on our team and hope to be surprised in the future. 38% strike out ratio? To have a hit tool don't you first have to hit the ball. The best way to judge whether we made a good pick at #13 is to see how picks 14-18 develop.
  12. Ten million dollars for Luke is a good deal considering he probably wouldn't have been a fixture in our outfield anyway. Also is another indicator of how well the trades from two years ago have paid off. It will be interesting to see who we get as the player to be named later although the odds of that player making the big leagues is probably remote. Does everyone enjoy following our minor league box scores nightly like I do? It's really a great way to cap off the day before turning in. If some of you haven't tried it here is a good link to easily check .. http://www.startribune.com/daily-updates-twins-minor-league-results-player-statistics/299332361/ Cheers!
  13. You can never make a good trade (in any business) unless you are willing to walk away.
  14. I don't think nightmare is the right word to use. Maybe good or adequate. Or better than against left handers. I did enjoy the states however but refuse to think of Maeda as not to jink the trade. Although I would be fine if the trade did not go through. If I were the Twins I would only offer up a top 20 prospect if they really want to make the trade but I would simply say, take it or leave it ..
  15. What's your solution, cut Cruz, Donaldson, Garver and Sano ...or trade them for left handed batters ..
  16. 5 years for 75 mill would be worth it .. That's probably what he would get paid if he was a free agent this year. But the only reason I would pay it is because our starting pitching staff is our achilles heel right now.
  17. There is NO RISK associated with this move. If he doesn't revert to form in spring training he's gone. This is like throwing as many starting pitchers up against to wall to see what sticks ..
  18. If my math is correct he just turned 22. I too ave high hopes for the kid but feel he needs to master AA before we can even think about him in the majors. My guess is that he will not be a factor with the Twins this year and possibly not until late next year but that's okay with me. I don't think there is any need to rush him ..
  19. One more thing since we don't know whether the ball will be juiced or not is how many home runs we hit vs the top home run teams in the league. You wouldn't need to project the whole league. Probably just about 4 other teams
  20. I really like the way you did it by position instead of player Andrew. But you forgot pitchers batting in National League games
  21. Yes, these statistics show great potential. BUT, the only way he can realize his potential is to stay on the field. YES, he might make 5 or so fewer catched is he plays it safe at the wall like say, Max Kepler. This Tori Hunter macho attitude about catching ball is brave but even Tori stopped being so aggressive later in his career. Why can't Tori impart his experience to Buxton and shorten this process. So, my point is, what is more detrimental to the Twins and Buxton's career. Giving up 5 catches per year or making those 5 catches and spending half the year on the bench. Remember, those five attempts only present themselves because of Buxton's phenomenal speed. Any replacement not only would never HAVE an opportunity to make those five attempts but due to elite speed will not make the 20 or more catches Bryon MAKES because of speed. Buxton needs to let balls go that require him to run into the wall at high speed. Remember, the faster you run the harder the hit. No one in baseball can run into a wall harder than Bryon. This is precisely why he SHOULD NOT run into the wall at higher speed than anyone else in baseball could ever do. Only Buxton can decide whether he wants the stay on the field the majority of the year to help the Twins. How many times have we heard that the Twins have a higher winning percentage with Buxton on the field. Let's hope that Bryon makes a consensus decision to limit the chances of injury's not only for the benefit of the Twins but his chances to ever play enough innings to potentially be the Hall of Fame candidate his skill set may allow.
  22. The whole world knew it was only a matter of time.
  23. Signing an extension is like taking out insurance. Some people are risk averse and some people aren't .. There is nothing that obligates Berios to signing now vs banking on the come. If the Twins weren't trying to sign him to a longer deal I would be upset but they are so can't get upset at either Berios or the front office. We as fans can want it to happen but we as fans have no say over the matter.
  24. Donaldson is the best third basemen the Twins have had since Harmon Killebrew and that was a long, long, time ago .. I'm down with it ..
