  1. This is just another example pointing out how much the Falvey regime has failed to develop its own internal talent pipeline. Having to overpay for mediocre free agents isn't a sustainable strategy.
  2. I forgot one: Who will be the position player you pitch a couple of times a week when we're getting pummeled?
  3. I don't expect any of these to be asked or answered truthfully: How much is Falvey going to dictate the day to day decision making? What are you going to do differently to get more out of the once-promising young guys? Why should we expect any different results here than you had in Pittsburgh?
  4. Another injury-riddled, past his prime guy? Fits the Twins perfectly- that's our wheelhouse.
  5. Was he THE problem? No. Was he part of the problem? Without a doubt. The entire organization is dysfunctional, from the owners on down. I can't think of anybody who didn't contribute to the downfall. Well, maybe I'll give the janitorial staff and field crew a pass.
  6. I'd be shocked if they went outside the organization. If they do what they should and fire Falvey, the new guy won't be around long anyway. Whoever they bring in is going to be in a thankless situation, so I doubt many talented people outside the organization would want to associate themselves with this dumpster fire. Whoever they pick, I hope they can motivate the young guys and actually display some human emotions.
  7. Good, but now let's get rid of everybody above him in the food chain as well. There's no one in this entire organization I'd trust to rebuild this team.
  8. Rocco and Falvey both need to go. They've had plenty of time. It's not working. Let's get a manager in here who has a pulse and can be a motivator.
  9. When you're beaten soundly by a "lowly" team, perhaps it is you that is lowly. Just sayin...
  10. This team could use a real fire lit under them instead of the flatlining "leadership" coming from Baldelli.
  11. The lane they picked should be barrelling toward Baldelli as well.
  12. Does it have to be only one? I'd like to see them sell-off everybody and anybody they can get a warm body for- a "nuke and pave" approach, if you will. If only one, I'd keep Duran, simply because he's younger.
  13. Another retread from the scrap heap. Nothing to see here.
  14. Well, this IS the team that thought it would be a good idea to put Royce Lewis in CF and Miguel Sano in RF. This move seems comparable.
  15. There seems to be a systemic problem with this bunch. Look at young hopefuls like Lewis, Lee, Julien, Miranda and Wallner. They do well in the minors, come up to the big leagues and have some initial success. People start to think they are going to have that kind of production for 10 years and hail them as potential stars. Then MLB teams get them on film, figure out their weaknesses, and attack them. This is where either these guys make adjustments and have some level of success (Lee, Lewis), or are unable to make adjustments and fall off a cliff (Julien, Miranda, Wallner). It seems to me that this organization either isn't setup to help these guys make adjustments, or the players are unwilling/unable to do so. I tend to favor the organizational explanation.
  16. Maybe I should've worded my post differently. While they knew he had issues and said so, they were still publicly saying he was just fine to pitch. He was not.
  17. But everybody was saying he was just fine? LOL. This team treats injury news like the nuclear launch codes. It was obvious to any casual observer there was something physical going on.
  18. There was a time when I cared, but not anymore. This organization is getting everything it deserves.
  19. You can only rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic so many times.
  20. There's just nothing left to get excited about. Normally I'd say let's fire Rocco and start unloading players, but I have no faith in the decision makers to tinker with the roster in a way that's actually going to benefit the team (short or long term). This organization sticks with players and managers well beyond the point where it's obvious they contribute little or nothing. At this point I don't even have any ideas on how to fix things, short of a total system purge along with new ownership. It's sad, really.
  21. Having Vaz (avg < .190) hit away instead of bunting in extras certainly was a choice. Nice job, Rocco.
  22. This is a typical Minnesota Twins problem. Which of many under-performing players do we swap out to make room for another under-performing player? I get the feeling we're just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
  23. Thankfully we'll never be at the same party to test your proposition.
