  1. And Lynn has 4 K's in 1 2/3 innings. What does it take to be satisfied?
  2. Geez, it's scoreless in the second inning.
  3. You're right. I comes before R in the dictionary.
  4. Once again, a huge number of fans wearing their empty green seat disguises.
  5. And the Bulldogs are up 2-0 over the Buckeyes late in the second. Looking good for the good guys!
  6. Google makes it look like he's in the Baltimore organization.
  7. Shame on all of us who didn't think of that before you did.
  8. Saw this on a t-shirt once. https://i.stack.imgur.com/Pxjq6.jpg
  9. I'll probably be home in time to catch the last inning or two on TV. Of course I'll be clicking back and forth to watch UMD beat OSU as well.
  10. The only other thing would have been one more run in the 9th inning of the first game.
  11. The first game thread of the season, the true indicator that spring is here. Thanks, RB!
  12. The perfect lineup starts by replacing Dozier with Buxton in the leadoff spot.
  13. Of course I had to look it up. Allan Anderson went 7.1 innings at defending AL Champion Oakland, giving up 1 (earned) run to get the win.
  14. There are 60 teams needed for the 30 home openers. That means the average number each team plays is 2. Some play 1, some play 3. 4 would be unusual; I wonder if that's ever happened.
  15. This will be the last time for about ten years that Berrios doesn't open the season.
  16. Choosing Gibson to start the second game doesn't necessarily mean the team thinks he's the second best starter.
  17. There is almost always a scheduled day off on the day following a home opener so the game can be rescheduled if necessary with no loss of ticket revenue.
  18. My wild-@$$ prediction is that Busenitz will be lights out at Rochester and be the call-up when a new reliever is needed due to injury or performance issues.
  19. I'm sure your lifetime ban proposal is well intended, but I'll go to your last paragraph and be devil's advocate. Do you suppose an up-and-coming player would be capable of spiking a rival's food during spring training? Making the penalty more severe for the player who tests positive increases the incentive for something like that.
  20. I remember googling stanozolol when Ervin went down. If you are juicing this is not the drug to take. Apparently it is almost always detected and the test is very specific for that drug.
  21. This is why pitch to contact is the right approach for many pitchers. True power pitchers are excepted, of course, but if you're not able to get a lot of K's you're better off inducing easy grounders and fly balls early in the count.
  22. If Falvine had known a few months ago that we'd get Morrison they'd have traded him then. The best we're going to do now is get a low-level prospect from a team that really wants him because every GM in baseball knows he'll be available in two weeks. The only question is which team will pick him up. Or if he goes to Japan to mash big time for a year or two.
