  1. OK, the lead is intact, more or less. Time for the batters to pick up the load and score a few.
  2. I blame the ASG for screwing up Pablo's routine.
  3. We need Pablo to bury the A's, and we need our batters to continue to do likewise. I'd like to see a comfortable win tonight.
  4. Hmmm, I don't know. Cattle wouldn't leave you alone, but maybe that's what you had in mind.
  5. Hey, a 2-run single! We must be sure to thank the opposing team for being the Oakland Athletics.
  6. In German, wer means who. The German word for where is wo.
  7. Echoing Danchat, OPS is not perfect. IMHO, it overweights slugging and underweights OBP. What makes it useful and widely cited is that it gives a general idea of how well a player hits and it's easy and convenient to calculate.
  8. Of these Cleveland is the only one I've visited. It's a good stadium, solid middle-of-the-pack, but nothing particularly noteworthy. Upon reflection I realize I've been to only 8 current MLB stadiums. No bucket list on my part but if I'm in the vicinity of any of the other 22 when there's a game I expect I'll go.
  9. What is the source on this? No such transaction has posted on the Twins' web site.
  10. This is being kind. The strike three call on a pitch that was four inches low put Correa and Baldelli at the precipice of ejection and cost the Twins at least one run. Then the following half inning the Twins pitcher had two pitches in the same area but inside the TV box that were called balls. This prompted a discussion in the booth about instituting the challenge system next season. To me the challenge system is just plain stupid and should never even be considered for use. In the instance of a challenge the electronic pitch call overrides the umpire's pitch call. So to avoid unnecessary delays and ejections and improve accuracy just use the electronic call for every pitch in the first place. And implement it for the 2024 season.
  11. What, like Nolan Ryan, Steve Carlton, or Jim Perry?
  12. Maeda at 59 pitches through 2 innings. Against Oakland. That's not gonna get it.
  13. Trading Sonny Gray for prospects would not accomplish what we need accomplished. We need a hitter (or hitters) who can help the major league team this year.
  14. Don't forget about the Pujols contract when you discuss the ineptitude of the Angels. That probably hamstrung their ability to field a competitive roster more than any other single factor. The whole thing is a classic example of an owner who knows and understands way less than he thinks he does.
  15. Yeah, it's like the home on Lake Minnetonka that has no comps for the realtor or potential buyer to go by. It's more like, if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it.
