  1. So Bell should have gotten the error then? An errant throw is an error, regardless of who is trying to catch it. What you are implying would be the same as giving every hitter a hit even if the fielder can't scoop up the ball.
  2. Yeah, the error in Friday nights game was by Kreidler, so he'll be an upgrade. LOL!
  3. Have played 3 teams with below .500 records at this point, and the Twins went 1-2 against all 3. Tells you a lot about this team. They can't even beat other teams that aren't playing well. They are, what a lot of us thought they would be... Bad. Normally one would say they need to clean out the dead wood but that dead wood is what Falvey brought in the past couple of years, so they've got no one to turn to. The bonfire is going to be pretty big again this year at the trade deadline. Bye Bye Ryan, Buxton and Jeffers.
  4. Tom really wasn't kidding when he said this team was going to be competitive. They are competing with the White Sox for last place in the division with all the vim and vigor as any last place team can muster.
  5. 4 reasons for Optimism 1. Joe Ryan 2. Byron Buxton 3. Ryan Jeffers 4. Pablo Lopez (not really) Look out trade deadline.......... here we come. 2026, a prove it year for Lewis, Lee, Wallner, Larnach, Martin or they'll be gone too.
  6. The powers that be continue their narrative that this team will compete. Thus the retreads like Outman, Bell, Clemens and anyone else Falvey brought in the last few years that is still here will get the nod to prove they don't belong BEFORE the youngsters that would help this organization down the road get to prove they do belong. It's the recipe they have followed for many seasons now and even though the guys in charge have changed, the philosophy hasn't. Trying the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is......... ?
  7. Based on their major league careers, especially the last 2 months of the 2025 season, I find it hard to believe that Roden is considered the 3rd outfielder over Martin. The author of this article appears to be drawing straws.
  8. "Jack of all Trades - Master of None" will maintain their level of mediocrity. Looking for ways to get guys like Kody Clemens, a career .206 hitter, more at bats, does nothing to instill confidence in the fans for Sheltons ability to manage.
  9. Agree with those that think he should stay at least until the trade deadline. On top of that, Tom isn't going to take away the chance for the fans to go to Target Field for a game, when they have a pitcher starting the game, that actually gives them a chance to win. The days he pitches at Target Field, will undoubtably have bigger crowds.
  10. We aren't the only ones who think the Twins FAILED https://www.theringer.com/2026/02/12/mlb/mlb-offseason-grades-best-signings-trades-deals-spring-training
  11. Have they contacted Jack Morris yet? We'll be needing him for Game 7.
  12. Or a pitcher that is injured. That worked so well under the Falvey era.
  13. Is this and your previous... bang for the buck post, suppose to be sarcastic? If so, then I agree. Someone like Carlos Correa would be ideal. Wait! They tried that already and failed. He wasn't able to provide that bang for the buck like you hoped. He was too much buck for the bang. Someone with similar skills for half the money would be the answer. Where's he coming from? It's true they are already talking Culpeppers abilty to be a major league SS is questionable. When was the last time they had a really good one that didn't cost C4 payroll? You have to go back to the days of Roy Smalley and Greg Gagne. In all likelihood, having Lee play SS for the near term isn't going to matter. This team, as constructed, isn't going anywhere anyway. Might as well have a below average SS to go along with just about every other positional player on the roster.
  14. F is the grade for me. Maybe a D- if you want to be generous. Outside of improving the backup catcher spot with Caratini offensively over Vazquez that's all I see there. Bell will do nothing to improve the team at 1B and we already had 3 guys that are DH types like him that shouldn't be playing defensively. Every other move was changing pebbles on the beach instead of adding a few rocks. The big move in the bullpen was Rogers and he's a shadow of his former self when he was with the Twins previously. It's going to take another good FULL year from Buck, a bounce back year from Wallner, The same production all year from Martin that we saw in the last month or two of 2025, No sophomore slump from Keaschall and major improvements from Lee and Lewis for this team to be better than last year offensively. 1B still remains a liability. Maybe Jenkins, Gonzalez, Rodriguez, Culpepper will be up by mid-season to help, but that will only happen if all of the above DON'T do what they need to, which only solidifies that the off-season was a bonafide failure. The rotation is going to need to go deep into ballgames almost every game cause the bullpen looks to be a disaster. Good Luck Tom!
  15. I was hoping someone would change my mind. Okay........ my season tickets have been bought. Are you happy now? Whoops! Back to reality.
  16. And yet the Twins have gotten worse. Your rose colored glasses have some manure on them.
  17. Sorry, I don't feel sorry for Falvey. He made a multitude of moves to numerous to mention that he had complete control over that he just completely whiffed on. Even his last 2 significant moves in spending $7M each on Josh Bell and Victor Caratini show his inept way of spending the available payroll he has at his disposal. Neither Bell or Caratini move the needle to a higher level. They only solidify a floor that maintains the status quo of mediocrity. Had the total of their 2 salaries, $14M, been given to just one, much better player, who was capable of significant improvement at even just 1 position it makes the team BETTER. The only problem of going with that avenue of spending is that Falvey has also shown with Correa and Gallo that he wasn't capable of spending bigger dollars wisely either. Blame the Pohlads if you wish, but Falvey failed in a lot of ways that weren't the Pohlads fault.
  18. Falvey leaves and the process of finding the worst of the worst remains the same.
  19. Valdez is too expensive for the Twins, even if he is entering the discount zone of time for Free Agents. The Twins already have a Valdez type pitcher on their roster and I would be less surprised to see him (Ryan) traded than another pitcher like him signed. Besides, adding to your strength (rotation) while leaving the bare cupboard (bullpen) empty doesn't really improve the team. This would look like a Falvey move. Maybe they could bring in another left-handed hitting corner outfielder too?
  20. The Pohlads will never run out of scapegoats. The new people they hire to replace the used scapegoats become fodder for new scapegoats. If the Twins falter again in 2026, tell me they won't look to Shelton or a new Coach to blame. At the very least they will use Falvey as a scapegoat for the next few years saying he didn't do his job building up the team, (which I agree with), however, it will never get to the point where they say it's their fault.
  21. Not impossible. The Brewers, Indians, Rays do it almost every year.
  22. My first thought is........... the more things change, the more they stay the same. Carl first turns things over to Joe, then Tom. Levine leaves and his job goes to Falvey. Falvey gets the axe and his job goes to Zoll. Rocco gone, they hire Shelton. Seems like a lot of in-house connection that signals change but very little changes other than names. They will have to prove me wrong before I believe any of these changes will make a difference.
  23. It's never a good thing when you reach the point of, damned if you do AND damned if you don't.
  24. Of the 10 players that were part of the fire sale, how many were connected to Falvey either through the draft or some sort of acquisition by him? I didn't look it up but I'm guessing all 10. What's sad is that none of them were worth keeping. That alone, in a nutshell, tells you how good Falvey was at his job.
