  1. Meanwhile, if I’m Festa, I’m already on my way to have a chat with the official scorer.
  2. Electric? I’d say Nice. Very Good. (Admittedly, TD writers have call his arm electric about a thousand times.) Still, about every team in the league has a Festa or two emerging. And many are not already 25 years old as is our guy.
  3. It wouldn’t have been a wild pitch. That’s the TRICK! No. The Twins wouldn’t have scored on Ball 1
  4. 1 run on 4 hits after the HR. That’s hard to do.
  5. This makes 2 of the 3 starters in this series for the Brewers younger than both Festa and Matthews.
  6. Biggest difference with Buxton is he’s not chasing nearly as much. That was a great at-bat. Made the pitcher give in.
  7. And remember: if you want to see Raya pitch in St Paul…you need to have left your house about 30 minutes ago.
  8. Twin Citians have to choose which really bad team to watch today in 96-degree heat and 70% humidity. Twins or Saints. Tough call.
  9. Been there for him the whole game…nothing but pitches off the plate outside.
  10. You’d think it would be worth a try given the state of the bullpen, the score, and the offensive ineptitude.
  11. The fact that Rocco doesn’t start Castro there is so confounding and frustrating. Quintana, not a K guy…hasn’t K’d anyone today. Correa not a high K guy. My god, take a chance! Send him and tell Correa to swing the bat. My god!
  12. Buxton trying to pull a pitch 6 inches off the plate.
  13. An affront to the game of baseball played at a professional level. Truly gross. Even Milwaukee played their part with the positional pitcher in the 9th. Gross. Meanwhile, you can assign blame anyway you like…I’m talking in general, not just this game…Rocco is 1000% part of the problem.
  14. One that every team in the league could have had…many, including the Twins, passed on him twice.
  15. The Twins took Prielipp 15 picks ahead of Misiorowski…who is more than a year younger than Prielipp. The key…Misiorowski wasn’t going to sign for what Prielipp was willing to sign for.
  16. 34% K rate against right-handed pitching in AAA, makes him unplayable against righties with the Twins. And it’s tough to carry a guy like that with little/no defensive value when you have to carry a gazzillon relievers. I’d wait for when the team will face a spate of left-handed starters.
  17. Intellectually, it would make some sense…for a low price. Emotionally, it’s depressing to even have to consider it.
  18. Maybe. Meanwhile, $1.5B would have netted them $30M in a money market by now if they had accepted such an offer 6 months ago. And that’s not taking into account the finance charges on the debt that they continue to pay (or accumulate). I doubt the Pohlads are ‘dumb’ business-acumen wise. And they have all the info that we don’t. But, it could be that they are simply no longer (or never were) really motivated to sell at ‘market’. It’s the scenario that we fear most, probably.
