  1. 8, 9, 1 batters due in the 7th I would go with Jax, but have Duran getting ready to come in for the 2 batter whether in the 7th or 8th. Use Duran as a fireman and expect Thielbar to pitch a clean 9th against the lower half of the order.
  2. I hope they bounce back in time to take care of Detroit. Can't believe I just typed that!
  3. I apologize, I thought the "but I would rather see a AAA backfill get a chance" comment was regarding Keuchel, not Gallo.
  4. Twins have won 2 of 3 starts. IMO it could be worse and not much room to be better. I don't look forward to a DK start against TX, but I'm not sure Ryan will be much better with his HR problems.
  5. After today, I don't see him going to STP, IMO he would opt out. How do think the Twins would fare against him if he were pitching for Cle?
  6. What do you do with DK? 3 starts, win loss & ND (Twins win). I wanted DK to be called up, but after Philly, I'm not sure I want to see him against TX.
  7. Why do the Twins look like they have made up their mind to swing a pitch no matter where its at. On Gameday Solano looked he swung at ball 4 & 5
  8. I'm not sure I would blame Gray 100%. From reading the posts Lewis and Gallo may have converted a play that Polanco and Solono couldn't.
  9. I'm less upset with Gallo than Lewis and Solano. A productive out would have scored a run.
  10. What's the Twins record for Ks in game?
  11. CBS reported he was in original lineup but pulled because hand was still sore
  12. 4 of 5 leadoff Men reach base, luckily Pitt is 0-9, with risp.
  13. I'm hoping for a split and a Twins win to drop the majic number by 2 today
  14. "With the American League Central race all but locked up," It should be locked up, but I fear it is far from being so. Cleveland is only 4 games back in the loss column and we have 6 left against them, they also are ahead in the season series. If they split the 6 games, Cle only has to tie the Twins to win the division. The Tigers are 7 back in the loss column and has already won the season series. Between now and 9/6 the Twins have 3/Pitt, 2/Mil, 7/TX and 6/Cle. This stretch will be large factor in determining the Central.
  15. Yesterday they fielded close to the best defensive team. Today I believe that 2-4 positions have been weakened. Is there a site that posts an individual game's expected BA vs the actual BA? TIA
  16. I've been complaining about Duran use of the curveball. I thought he was getting beat badly on the curve, so I googled his batting average against the curve. BBSavant had the breakdown against his FB, Split & Curve. I was shocked to see his curve was statistically his best pitch .154 BA, .144 XBA, .308 SLG & .244 XSLG. FB is .241, .256, .466, and .436 respectively. Split is .246, .186, .333 & .293. Can someone give a reason as to why the curve numbers are so good? My bias may be that I feel Duran's FB is his best pitch and when someone hits it, I just tip my cap. When someone hits the curve, I feel like Duran should have used his best pitch.
