    At least Rivas had upside because of his MiLB performances and age. Florimon, not so much.

    I was never a Florimon fan, I think everybody knows that. With that said, it's reaching the point where continuing to give him ABs is pretty indefensible.

    Oh, for sure... I have a lot more faith in the rotation holding their own this season than I did last year after Worley completely collapsed. Even more so considering how May has started out in Rochester. If his curve has matured a bit and he can keep the fastball under control, he has a legitimate shot at being a #3 pitcher, maybe even a #2 if things really work out.

    Yep. While I can't believe the rotation will continue to be this bad, this April is looking a lot like last April. Crazy hitting performances that can't possibly be sustainable while the rotation crumbles and we see a lot of 9-7 victories. And we all know what happened last May. This could easily be "second verse, same as the first".

    After the first game, I had a nagging feeling the Twins would get swept. Now they have a legitimate chance to win the series. But damn, this pitching needs to get on track. It's been so much worse than it should have been over the first four weeks of play. Their ceiling is probably mediocrity but their floor *should* be higher than we've seen thus far.

    And, again, 20 games of .680 OPS play don't invalidate my argument in any way. I'm not sure why you are blowing 20 April games out of proportion. Hey, it's possible that Mauer continues to flounder compared to his previous standard. It's also entirely possible that this is a minor blip in his performance and he'll be rocking an .800+ OPS by June 1st. Either way, it doesn't excuse the tone you took with me after I posted a quite reasonable post that, when looked at objectively, was not even remotely controversial.

    My post was "well, duh"? Really, Levi. Here's the post again. Pretty hard to see a "well, duh" in there any way I look at it. I mention he's a slow starter, mention that his strikeouts are mildly concerning, and say that I'll reserve judgment until more games are played. I posted an opinion and did it respectfully. You then turned around and made the argument about me. Is this the part where I bring up your Kyle Gibson argument from early March? Is that appropriate?

    Absolutely, I just thought you may have misunderstood how BABIP is calculated. I agree with your general point that his BABIP should climb if he continues to hit like he has thus far this season.
