  3. Was watching the Brewers. Did Rocco get his ass booted again?

  5. This is a great feature on one of the staples of Target Field: Sue the organist. If you haven't visited Sue, she's top deck behind home plate. It's a must-see stop at Target Field, particularly if you have kids. https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/news/twins-organist-sue-nelson-celebrates-25-years-with-team/
  6. Ryan gave up a few too many hits but overall, he looked okay.
  7. I agree in the sense that Max Kepler shouldn’t be on the roster, much less in the lineup.
  8. All but the most elite LHB are pretty garbage against lefty pitching so I don’t get too worked up about reps.
  9. I’m pretty iffy on these moves but I don’t hate them in this situation. This team could really use a game where they just bury the opponent in the first few innings and these moves made that more likely to happen.
  10. This team looks exceedingly competent today. It’s making me uncomfortable.
  11. I'd say something smart-assy about it but I honestly don't even care enough to try.
  12. I'm past the point of being rational about Kepler, I dislike him as a player soooooooo much. I'll just leave it at that and will not speculate about what he's thinking.
  13. He has not looked good this season. At least twice I've seen him half-ass a ball off the limestone. That prompted me to look into his defensive metrics. I was surprised at how incredibly mediocre they are this season.
  14. How he's starting almost every night is maddening. We've talked endlessly about his offense but take a look at his defense in right field. 2021 - 785 innings DRS (Defensive Runs Saved): 9 OAA (Outs Above Average): 8 2022 - 891 innings DRS: 10 OAA: 12 2023 - 359 innings DRS: 0 OAA: 1
  15. Yes? He's under-performing but he's also aging and due to the rigidity of his swing, I haven't seen anything to indicate improvement in years. Most people who dug into the numbers predicted little, if any, additional production due to shift limitations (not just Kepler, most LHBs). Possibly single digit batting average and a small bump in OPS. Not enough to really change his performance notably. It doesn't matter if Kepler has an OPS of .720 or .740. I basically ignore advanced metrics with Max. He hits the ball hard, always has. His problem is where he hits the ball and how often he makes contact that is essentially 100% outs between those hard-hit balls. If Kepler is hitting 30 homers, it's easy to tolerate all that ****** contact. If he's hitting 16 home runs, he's not a good hitter. He has hit 30 home runs exactly once. He won't play center field. He's getting older. He's not only probably never going to be good again, he's more likely to start being bad, possibly right now.
  16. Hey hey hey, I only mentioned Punto. We all know how much I loved Nishioka, too.
  17. I told the Twins to trade for Nick Punto back in 2003. That caused a series of chain reactions that led to this point. My bad. Sorry, everybody.
  18. I think they'll get the game in, though it might end up being a late start. The rain is supposed to be sporadic after noon and stop in late afternoon.
