  1. Streaming details have been released and wow, they're impressive. Kudos to MLB for hitting the ground running. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-to-produce-broadcast-padres-games
  2. My preseason hot take that Ryan would lead the team in pitching WAR is looking pretty good right now.
  3. Not to mention that he's been absolutely tearing it up on the basepaths. His value as a hitter is enormous, well beyond that of OPS. Still, it'd be really nice to see him in center on occasion.
  4. Good lord this couldn't be less true. Over the past three seasons, Buxton has a WPA of almost 5. He's literally the most clutch player you could ask for in the moment.
  5. Just wanted to pop in and mention this umpire is garbage.
  6. The starters can't receive anything lower than an A, in my opinion. They have the second-best ERA in baseball and are sixth in innings pitched. Only 6.0 innings separate the Twins at sixth and the Cardinals in first. The rotation has been outstanding, which makes the rest of it all the more infuriating.
  7. He crept back into the Twins Daily top 20 in the latest update with a #17 ranking. If he keeps this up, I could see him shooting back into the top ten with the mid-season update. https://twinsdaily.com/minnesota-twins-top-prospect-rankings/
  8. I also couldn't give them a D and ended up voting C. They're in first place and above .500. That doesn't warrant a D grade, it's not as if they're the Padres.
  9. Gleeman gave the Twins a C+. I wouldn't go higher than a C and before I vote, I'm vacillating on whether a D is more appropriate. Yes, they're tracking right where projections had them to start the season but the way they've "achieved" that is both infuriating and promising depending on the angle you view it. It feels like the rotation has largely been wasted by poor bullpen and lineup performance... but I'm not sure how much of that to blame on the front office or Baldelli. They're putting quality players on the field, those players just aren't performing. Anyway, give us your thoughts. https://theathletic.com/4549233/2023/05/25/mlb-all-30-grades-memorial-day/
  10. He can come off the 60-day IL and play in Minnesota on June 1, not a day before.
  11. 25th in batting average, 25th in on-base percentage, 15th in slugging. This isn't a team that gets on base very often and it's often not on first base when they do. Then couple that with 27th in strikeout percentage and 28th in groundball percentage (as in 27 teams hit more groundballs) and you have a team that simply doesn't GIDP that often.
  12. My understanding is that Lewis will only play IF for the time being.
  13. It's probably time for Buxton to put a glove on his left hand a couple of times a week.
  14. Just as I give faint praise to Kirilloff's defense at first...
  15. Bah, that's nothing. Check out this Cubs prospect. https://northsidebaseball.com/chicago-cubs-top-prospect-rankings/owen-caissie-r8/
  16. He has the type of approach, ability, and swing that I never really doubted whether he'd hit, which made the string of wrist injuries all that much harder to take. There's a reason he peaked at being a #9 prospect on MLB's list in 2019 and it sure ain't his defense (though that is pretty okay at first).
  17. BREAKING: Alex Kirilloff is pretty good at baseball
  18. Interestingly, the writers and forums were split on 1/2 but tie goes to the writers so Lee remains atop the prospect leaderboard. The forums voted Lewis as #1. The very well-thought-out system that decided "tie goes to the writers" was painstakingly argued for 3.5 seconds in my head.
  19. Delmon Young 4 Cooperstown
  20. Get the series win against Los Dodgers. Tough pitching matchup all around today.
  21. The Twins missed their best opportunity to win last night in a wild game that went pretty deep into extras. I wouldn't know much about this game, as I went to bed because west coast games are brutal when you have small children. Tonight the Twins get a revitalized Clayton Kershaw, as if the Los Angeles Dodgers needed the extra help.
  22. The Twins have a pretty brutal stretch of games until they face the Tigers a little over a month from now. First up is the Dodgers but thankfully, Minnesota gets to face Syndergaard in the opener. The Dodgers haven't yet been able to sprinkle their magic pitcher pixie dust on Thor yet, hopefully it stays that way through at least tonight.
  23. Not the Kershaw/Ober game. The first game is advantage Twins and I’d call the third game a draw.
