If Gardy were managing and he played Shafer and Beresford night after night we would accuse him of playing mediocre players like he himself had been ... Molitor, by comparison, should be playing future Hall of Famers. I don't know. Not my best post.

You're acting rational again.  You really need to stop that behavior and accept the reality of the futility.

I'm somewhat bitter that Molitor has finally managed to make me feel relieved that a hitter with 42 home runs was not asked to bunt.

 

When a player has 42 home runs, the only correct sign for a bunt is a burning bush.

I will add ... man, am I prolific tonight ... that the new rule against take-out slides at second base has really cleaned up the game. Does anyone know if league-wide double plays are up this year?

It's pretty impressive how each day brings something new to represent just how awful this season has been.

I don't see many games anymore this year, but every time I check in and see him, I think of all the ABs ABW II could have been taking this whole blasted time.
