Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Since the game is in rain delay, I'll get this posted and it won't count as being late! Hopefully it won't be called, but here it is anyway ... Cards: Carpenter, 3B Wong, 2B Butler, DH Adams, 1B Robinson, CF Grichuk, LF Piscotty, RF Cruz, C Kozma, SS Wainwright, SP Twins: Buxton, CF Dozier, 2B Mauer, DH Ramirez, RF Plouffe, 3B Kubel, LF Parmelee, 1B Pinto, C Escobar, SS Nolasco, SP Now, go forth and chatter!
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 It's of very little consequence in the long run, but with Buxton not hitting i'd just bat him near the bottom when facing MLB pitching from this point forward, this year, next year, whenever. Until he consistently starts raking. Why even take the small risk of a Hicks repeat. go Twins!
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 It started raining around 12:15, a real nice light rain. About 1 it really poured with alot of wind, thunder and lightning. Last night news said this would hit around 5, so we got it early. And now it's back down to a light rain. With the Cards in town for what's always one of the best draws of the spring, I'd imagine attendance to be around 8000 so they will really try to get this in. At best, right now, I'd say at least 2 hours if it quits completely.

One with "I think we can still play" and a second with water gushing in the dugout saying "OK maybe not." Rain extends out into the Gulf so it could be a long time before game starts (if ever).
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 My parents and I sat for a while last year, in the rain (we came prepared), before they called it. Might be a while ...
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Game canceled. I figured so... The radar looks like it's going to put a chokehold on Ft. Myers.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Just sprinkles or light drizzle the last 1 1/2 hours, so they could of played. Called it pretty quick today.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 I remember sitting in the rain last year waiting for the call before the game started; it came after we decided we'd had enough and left. It was pretty weird, though, as the gift shop pulled out boxes of rain ponchos to sell. They were white. And when you looked across the stadium with people wearing these, with pointy white hoods, yeah, looked really eerie.
