ashbury Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 If only the Twins were capable of that level of strategic thinking... Maybe that was Terry Ryan's strategy with trading Morneau. He targeted Pittsburgh, so he first called every other team and offered Morneau in exchange for their #1 and #2 prospect. They each slapped his face, or at least hung up the phone real loud. Then he called Pittsburgh and asked for two 27-year-olds, and everybody else thinks these were their two best prospects. Profit!
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 The first 2 died, probably as a result of always being pregnant, and the final wife was about 13 years old when he married her. Chief is familiar with those Biblical days; can he corroborate your story?

ashbury Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 Why, I do believe, it's Rally Avatar time.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 the final wife was about 13 years old when he married her. So many good places to take this one. Am I afraid to go the distance? Do I have some semblance of class left in the dark abyss that is my soul? If I pull the trigger, will it screw up my karma or land me in jail. (Sigh) I'm gonna have to pass on this one.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 The box score says that C. Lo is pitching. Probably the first time he would have seen this.
glunn Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Why, I do believe, it's Rally Avatar time. Olivia!!!

Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Thanks, Bark. She was my great-grandmother. I guess my intuition payed off this time.
glunn Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 When I swim at night there is a star that is almost directly above me. I don't know the real name, so I call it Olivia because it is so far away yet so bright that I can always see it.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 InCREDibly far away and out of reach. Keep reminding yourself of that.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I guess my intuition payed off this time. Yeah, and it was only a one-in-three shot so not an automatic. Good call.
glunn Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I guess my intuition payed off this time. From all accounts she was an amazing woman and she lived to around age 90 despite having 9 or 10 children.

glunn Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 The Astros announcers are actually not bad.
glunn Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Colabello grand slam!!! Wow.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 God Bless the United States of Olivia!!!
big dog Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 OK, we knew this already, but Colabello can really hit AAA pitching, even at the ML level! ...and he picked a darn good spot, too.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 Olivia!!! "How ya like me now?"
glunn Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 God Bless the United States of Olivia!!!
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 And of course now, Everyday Carnac, the Closer Avatar.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I've been a Colabello doubter since he came up. In fact, I'm still a doubter. But I'd love for him to spend a full month proving me absolutely, totally wrong.
glunn Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 It looks like there are about 25 fans remaining at the ballpark.
glunn Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Thank you Mr. Altuve. I am praying for this game to end.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Note to Astros- down four in the ninth, try not to get thrown out stretching a single into a double. Granted, it was a monster shot with a great bounce back to Mastro, but still.
boney Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 It's your life, live it beautifully Cola Bello

glunn Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I wish that the Astros could move to the Central and the Royals could move to the West.
