The only real positive comments I've seen is basically, 'we did this for Justin.' That's the company line being said by Ryan, announcers, etc.
Oldgoat_MN Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Everyone is ignoring the fact that he joins our team and immediately has one of the highest batting averages on the Twins. The 3 for 4 today didn't hurt, of course, but he is one of the most prolific hitters we have right now. I'll step aside now so all the bloggers who have been ripping him can tear me apart.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Hard throwing RH picked up from the Red Sox on a Rule 5. Oh, I but you mean Presley. It looks like another candidate for fourth outfielder. Some power, some speed, enough glove to play center.

I know the media view, I was looking for TR or a scout or someone saying "we really like this kid," or some such. Commentary does seem to be curiously lacking.
twinsfaninsaudi Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 "We’re excited. He actually ate up our Triple-A team in a series recently [going 7-for-14 against Rochester], and our guys duly noted that,” Gardenhire said of Presley. “We brought him over [because] we needed a leadoff guy. … He’s going to get a chance.” He will be the leadoff hitter and starting CF next year. Terry Ryan also said that they wouldn't have made the deal if they weren't happy with the return. At least this makes it so Hicks will have to earn his way back to the majors.
