ScottyB Verified Member Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 With Hendricks slated to start Saturday, who will get sent out is his place? Will Tonkin go back down? Also when Mauer comes back does Cola go back down? I believe that restricts him to coming back for 10 days, unless that's waived for roster expansion. They won't send Herrmann down as a precaution. Of course it will be less than a week until Sept. 1 - they could keep Mauer on the DL until then and expand the roster.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Deduno might be the key. He has had some "biceps tendonitis", but reported that he was fine after a bullpen session. If he gets hit hard again, or experiences more discomfort, I can see the Twins disabling Samuel. They could recall Diamond to take his place later. Colabello is the likely demotee if no one is injured. Arcia could also see the DL if he doesn't start getting better.

I know his WHIP is 1.4, but hasn't he been pitching better lately? Anyone think this might be in the cards? Perdomo? Robertson?

Robertson? No room on the 40-man, so none of your possibilities has much of a chance. Tyler Robertson was DFAed and claimed by the Nats in June or July. I think Perdomo has struggled and may have been disabled or demoted. If they want a starter to replace Deduno it almost has to be Diamond.
