Hill, Amick, and Reyes are not high probability prospects but they had considerable ceiling.  Those deals would have been fine if not for the fact this team was simply not a contender.  This was really poor decision making by an owner insisting his team was a contender despite his unwillingness to invest dollars last off-season and the fact they just were not very good.  It was delusional. 

That's not the headline.  The much greater cost was the lost prospects they could have got for Joe Ryan and Ryan Jeffers, and perhaps even Buxton.   Cashing in on that type of opportunity is what separates the Brewers and Guardians from the Twins.
