Twins were calling Toronto on Jose Siriano AFTER he had been traded to the Blue Jays

Dan Hayes wrote a bit ago that the Twins and Cubs were the teams that had called Toronto on Jose Siriano after he had been acquired initially from the Angels. That part is interesting to me. Hayes even goes to report that they had offered a package built around Kaelen Culpepper, but when Toronto asked for Riley Quick as a secondary piece (compared to whatever other secondary pieces the Twins were offering) that's when the agreement fell through. Later, the Twins and Toronto came together for the Jeff Hoffman trade.

So, getting Dean Kremer and then Jose Siriano at the deadline. What would you have thought of that deal happening?

The way Kremer is pitching I think we are better off.

I thought at the time that they got Kremer to set the floor and was very much in favor of going after another controllable pitcher that could slot in higher up the rotation, so I would've been a fan
