Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 26 Posted April 26 So, this is a bad stretch for the Twins. It's easier to win baseball games if you score runs. thelanges5 Verified Member Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Just saw this on Bluesky per Gleeman: Old friend Griffin Jax is starting vs. the Twins today as the Rays' opener. Jax has a 4.97 ERA in 29 innings since the Twins traded him to the Rays, including an 8.00 ERA this season. MN Brian, Danchat and Patzky 3

stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 26 Posted April 26 No lineup this late? There must be an injury concern.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 26 Posted April 26 It's getaway day. They're just planning to forfeit.
HarmonK03 Verified Member Posted April 26 Posted April 26 You need offense, so the answer is to put Outman in the lineup and sit Martin.

LakesPibble Verified Member Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Absolute trash starting lineup. Only 3 currently legitimate hitters, 4 if you buy that Lee has "figured it out".
thelanges5 Verified Member Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I can understand trying to keep Buxton off the fake grass, but you gotta play Martin. HarmonK03 1

stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I have been a big Martin backer all season (you can look it up), but I'll settle for him starting two out of three games against right handers and starting against all lefties. As long as he remains an on-base machine, he does need to be on the field. If Shelton has Outman on the roster, it is only fair to the player that he gets an occasional start, or he shouldn't be on the team. I know the response here will be that he shouldn't be on the team, but I think it's defensible to start every player at least once a week. The club is going similar to their first nine games. Not nearly enough guys are hitting and then the soft spots (bullpen and defense) show. I know he's always been streaky, but Buxton has been bad way more than good offensively this year and no one has stepped up, other than singles hitter Martin.

umterp23 Verified Member Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Rays have to be laughing seeing this lineup. Has to be the slowest foot speed collectively with this group today vs all mlb teams. Yikes

The Great Hambino Verified Member Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Bold strategy: they put out a high leverage reliever as starter, you counter with your 9 hitter as leadoff LakesPibble 1
Western SD Fan Verified Member Posted April 26 Posted April 26 At the speed that the Twins are getting themselves out, Jax may be able to go at least 2 innings.
jaimedude Verified Member Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Predictable at bats by Keaschall and Wallner. Both of those guys need to be sent to AAA.
Twindy Verified Member Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Maybe they should rename the team to the Minnesota Mendoza’s or Minnesota Sub Mendoza’s.

Peter Verified Member Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Guys you have to realize it’s rebuilding season! Most of the twins are kids who’ve never played in the big leagues, need a win to build momentum and get on a winning streak!!! Central division is winnable as no one will run away with it

There is plenty of experience on this team and not nearly enough kids that makes me buy into this argument. Blyleven2011 1
