GCTF Verified Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 D'ya suppose, when Gardy had to scratch Willingham, he put Carroll at third and Plouffe at DH just to avoid the embarrassment of having to submit an MLB lineup card containing "Carroll, DH" on it? It's been done. Jason Tyner, DH.
GCTF Verified Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I just call him Chumlee Everybody should.
CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 D'ya suppose, when Gardy had to scratch Willingham, he put Carroll at third and Plouffe at DH just to avoid the embarrassment of having to submit an MLB lineup card containing "Carroll, DH" on it?I don't think so. After all, this is the same guy who submitted multiple MLB lineup cards containing "Tyner, DH." Edit: GCTF!!! Snepp!!!
GCTF Verified Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Weird. I checked Fangraphs, and there's no reference to a "Robinson Cano" anywhere. It's like he doesn't exist. Must be a backstory there or something. Are you sure you didn't search for Robinson Crusoe by mistake?
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Does anyone know of a similarly embarrassing DH situation in the Gardy era?
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I wish the Twins had been more patient this inning -- run up the frigging pitch count.
snepp Verified Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Does anyone know of a similarly embarrassing DH situation in the Gardy era? There was that one guy who vowed vengeance upon the Twins and all of their kin. The name's on the tip of my tongue....
GCTF Verified Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Does anyone know of a similarly embarrassing DH situation in the Gardy era? Rondell White?

Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Didn't Tony Batista DH, or did he only play 3rd? Or who am I thinking of? The guy who played in Japan before the Twins picked him up...that's not Nishioka.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Tough play? I'm sure I can get my glove in front of something that's going to hit me in the gut.
big dog Verified Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Seriously...you pitch to Cano again? Right down the middle?
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 There is ONE good player on the entire Yankees offense. Why are the Twins pitching to him? Scared of Vernon Wells?
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Does anyone know of a similarly embarrassing DH situation in the Gardy era? Too subtle, I guess.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Someone needs to take Robinson C, put him on a raft and push him out to the Caribean in a hurricane to crash land on a desert island someplace.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 You can't walk the 3 hitter with one out and a runner already on.
GCTF Verified Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Cano started this series needing 6 HRs for 200 in his career. Thoughts on whether he'll have it before he leaves town?
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Cano started this series needing 6 HRs for 200 in his career. Thoughts on whether he'll have it before he leaves town? I just hope he does not get them all tonight.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Cano started this series needing 6 HRs for 200 in his career. Thoughts on whether he'll have it before he leaves town? No. Lefties can't hit for power in TF.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I cant stand listening to Smally run his yap.
big dog Verified Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 You can't walk the 3 hitter with one out and a runner already on. Why? Because they might score?
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I'm gonna miss Diamond when he goes back to Rochester. Wish he could have continued pitching way over his ability like he did last year.
big dog Verified Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I think it's time for Diamond to rediscover himself in Rochester for a while.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Pettitte 2 strikeouts away from tying Whitey Ford for the lead in K's in Yankee history. I think its safe to assume he gets there tonight, the question is, which Twin will have the honor of giving it to him?
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Really shouldn't get that big of a jump off a lefthander. Pay attention, Scott.
