Southpaw19 Verified Member Posted March 3, 2025 Posted March 3, 2025 (edited) Announcing the 2025 Home Run Derby! Hello and welcome to the official announcement for the 2025 Home Run Derby game that has been played over at Northside Baseball's Forum since the early 2000’s! If you’re reading this on NSBB, welcome back! If you’re reading this on Twins Daily or Brewers Fanatic - Hello and consider this your official invitation to play our 2025 Home Run Derby! If you are reading this and you have not played before, it is a form of “fantasy baseball” but without the day-to-day need to check your roster. There are no fantasy points for statistical offense, with the exception of Home Runs, of course! I am working with Brock Beauchamp to get the word out as much as we possibly can, in order to generate re(new)ed interest in this great and fun game. We are “crossing the streams” for this campaign, and we are opening up the participation to multiple forums. For the 2025 Season, this game will be played between Northside Baseball, Twins Daily, and Brewer Fanatic! Members from each forum can sign-up to play and participate! To read up on everything about the Home Run Derby, you can visit the wiki site linked in the successive post below. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. I have been running this game since 2006-2007. I’m still in the process of updating the rules pages, along with the groups/tiers for the upcoming 2025 season. More information will follow here in this community. I look forward to playing alongside all the new (and returning) members! Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2025 Posted March 4, 2025 After having read the desktop formatted rules on my phone several times, I have a few mechanical questions. Is there a specific template for the draft post? can multiple teams pick the same player? are all three sites playing the same game together?

There's not a real template, but I would post it like this: Position - Player - Cost Yes, multiple teams can pick the same player. Your team is not connected to any other team. The goal is trying to compose the team with the most home runs. The strategy comes in trying to pick players that the majority wouldn't pick, because if we all have the same, we all get those totals "together" and the standings don't move. Yes, the three sites would play the game together. The goal is to have over 20-30 participants.
