While looking through all thirty major league 40-man rosters, I also compiled the number of players on Injured Lists. There are 179 players on Injured Lists, an average of six per team. 57 players have been placed on the 60-day Injured List, averaging about two per team. The Twins have eight on the IL with two of them on the 60-day list, so slightly more than average.

The team with the least usage of Injured Lists is Detroit, with only one player on the IL, next is Atlanta with two and San Diego with three. Five teams have nine on the Injured List--San Francisco, Texas, Houston, Tampa Bay and the New York Yankees.

Interesting. SO overall this means we are near the mean (Average). Your information made me wonder how close we are to the Median (Middle) and it also made me wonder, "Who has the worst number of IL's and 60 day IL's?"

It also made me wonder ... where did we stand last year? I think it was reported that we were one of the healthiest teams last year. There is a very strong correlation between health and success on a sports team. (Okay, that was my 'duh!' comment of the day.)

IIRC, the Twins were above the mean in games lost to injuries again last year, but closer to the middle than at the top (10th or 11th in games lost?). In 2022, they were second in games lost, trailing only the Reds.
