As far as league minimum corner outfielders, they'd be better off to go with Oscar Gonzalez who was even more recently DFA'd by the Yankees than Hicks. He's young and has some upside past just OK. Or Alexander Canario who is out of options with the cubs. He looks like a solid fielder with some pop in his bat, but the Cubs may DFA him for roster reasons. Either of these RH corner bats could provide more than an aging Hicks and would be league minimum.

Either would be a waste of money at best.

You literally cannot pay someone less than Aaron Hicks. Do you want them to go with a 25 man roster and keep a spot open to save money?

Neither is better than Hicks was in his early years; it would make no sense to bring in under-performing rookies to see them fail.

Hicks has experience, his numbers in left field are good, he knows how to do things right, NOT , a flailing rookie.

Turns out the Twins thought that Bubba Thompson was the prospect with taking a flyer on. He's got two option years left. Makes sense.

Hicks signed with Angels today

If he performs he'll be available again at the trade deadline.

What's the deal with Hicks? The production hasn't been there consistently, and that happens to young players that don't always pan out. But he seemed to wear out his welcome with the Yankees for reasons other than his lack of production at the plate. Are there attitude problems there?
