Had to respond somewhere……Trent Grisham is terrible. .184 & .196 BA in the past 2 seasons with 1,079 AB’s & 304 K’s. We have so many better options internally I won’t try to list ……essentially anything we could think of to try is better, no matter how much of a reach.

Bader is not much better! .650 OPS in ‘22 & .622 OPS in ‘23.

Centerfield in ‘24 :

Castro - Rodriguez (underdeveloped) - Martin (underdeveloped) - Gordon - Kiersy …..,IMO, any of these options are better cost benefit (benefit ceiling is pretty low) than either of the guys mentioned above. Also, Buxton MAY play 30-40 games in CF in ‘24.

Neither of them can hit RHP.  The difference is that Bader has a career .823 OPS against LHP and Grisham .748.  Bader could be a a good platoon player with our LH heavy OF.  He can also be a late inning pinch runner and defensive replacement.

Or, sign the much better Kiermaier for another $3-3.5M and keep Farmer and the prospects for yourself.

Trade Rumors projects Kiermaier at 2/26.   Spotrac has Grisham at $3.175M so more like an extra $10M for Kiermaier.  I don't see them spending this much on a CF option.

I hate to do anything with the NYY but I came up with a good trade including Kepler. This flurry of LHB Ofers put the cabosh on that  idea.

Good thought on kiermaier , but let's try an unknown  like Martin  in the outfield , hit might be better than defense ( the word is he could handle left well and centerfield with alittlemore experience just as well , trade for outfield at deadline , it's not to expensive then if we need to fill a hole  ...

Getting a pitcher now is cheaper than getting a pitcher at the deadline  , this in my opinion will be the only major addition  the FO does to our roster  , rest will come in house ...

Why , because they did not add at deadline of last year and have done nothing as of yet  and with the payroll  reduction  it's a trade for a cheap controllable quality pitcher  , let's hope  it quality  ...

There is also going to be the dumpster diving minor league contracts for depth  ...

I think Randy Arozarena would be a better trade target. We need a right handed versatile bat for an outfield corner position, he is much more balanced as a hitter than Kiriloff or Larnach and while not a wizard in center could hold his own barring injury to Buxton. With an outfield of Arozarena, Buxton and Kepler with Nick Gordon and Austin Martin in reserve it’s a nice mix out there.
