gabesullivan Verified Member Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 Are they going to call up Martin anytime soon? He plays like anywhere and hes destroying AAA. Also, stevenson deserves a look. Definetly deserve a spot over someone like Luplow.

I wanted the Twins to pursue a more legitimate bat to face lefties but it's pretty hard to complain about what Luplow has done. He fills a very specific and necessary role on this roster, one that Kyle Garlick could have and should have filled awhile ago but that's water under the bridge. Althebum82 and SwainZag 2
Oldgoat_MN Verified Member Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 Thanks for asking the question gabesullivan. I, too, am at a loss as to why some players seem as though they should be getting a shot, yet it doesn't happen. Especially when they are carrying a BA of over .300 it makes you think that they could probably hit MLB pitching to some extent. Fortunately there are people who know a great deal more than I do (and perhaps more than you, too?) that may be kind enough to help us. Surely many of our TD comrades could provide some insight. That's a request from those of you who are willing to share your thoughts on the subject. Thank you

He doesn't even have 40 games at AAA under his belt, so expecting him to step in immediately and be a contributor in a pennant race is a little ambitious. Stevenson is doing great, but he's another lefty so doesn't fill the role they specifically brought Luplow in to address. He might be the overall better player (though his meh track record so far in MLB at 29 doesn't exactly prove it) but he's almost certainly not the right fit to bash lefties. wabene, SwainZag, Danchat and 1 other 4
