Could Bellinger be that type of spark this year? A couple prospects not yet in AA would be worth the opportunity to bring in a proven bat again. Never mind the fact this was over 20 years ago with a different regime, I would consider a rental to no longer be a twin after the season. Stewart re-signed with the Twins after that season. I do not see Bellinger re-signing with the Twins under any circumstances. The spark comment has merit, but I do not see Bellinger being that option. Still a hard pass for the Twins.

Gotta look at & have confidence in this year’s. umbers - then it’s a YES on paper. He’s a rental though so a good pitching prospect no……one that’s got potential upside, SWR - Headrick, maybe. Writers have to quit putting Alex Kirilloff down as potential trades so we can “upgrade” …..he’s definitely in the top 3 hitters we have, if not the best. Silly to say we should trade him for Bellinger or Goldschmidt or anyone. NotAboutWinning and Dave The Dastardly 2

Maybe Rocko was just protecting one of his players but I am curious where the Kepler refuses to play center comes from. I don’t recall reading anything where he “refuses,” but Gleeman said this in December Quote the Twins have shied away from using Kepler in center field the past few seasons, believing he wears down physically if asked to play there regularly and knowing that he prefers to stay in right field if possible. https://theathletic.com/3990551/2022/12/15/twins-max-kepler-trade/

And I think it's what this team needs. Leadership and a person that has won before - and maybe we get another 2 to 3 years from him with the thought that Buxton isn't going to be in CF in the future. That being said - Lewis and Polo should help the offense. Correa has talked a lot about being more aware of making contact with pitches which I think is a huge deal. Theilbar and Stewart will help the BP.... One Shannon Stewart like catalyst and no more injuries and we could turn on for August and September! We've got the pitching to do something if we can figure out the offense or go find some! Lefty61 1
