cHawk Community Moderator Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 The Twins’ starting rotation, which was very poor last year, has been rock solid in the first 29 games this year. This is their current rotation: 1. Joe Ryan 2. Sonny Gray 3. Chris Paddack 4. Chris Archer 5. Dylan Bundy/Josh Winder/Bailey Ober 2022 is the year of the long expected pitching pipeline. Some more prospects may come up and take rotation spots and some of the pitchers listed above will move to bullpen roles. What do you think this rotation will look like in 2025? Here’s mine: 1. Joe Ryan 2. Jordan Balazovic 3. Josh Winder 4. Simeon Woods Richardson 5. Bailey Ober
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 I could live with that group next year if they are all healthy and Balazovic and Woods Richardson are ready.
Morneau for Gov Verified Member Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 Would love to have a Cleveland type pitching pipeline, but it's too early to have that kind of faith. Early success in the majors is a good sign, but not a guarantee for any of these good-looking rookies yet. They need to get through the adaptations the league will make to them and show they have more ways to succeed. And they need to stay healthy. I like your list, but I'd suspect there will be a veteran or two in the rotation...that it won't be built entirely on home-built talent. I also suspect guys like Canterino, Varland, Sands, Strotman, and Enlow will factor into their near future. Love dreaming on a bright, young future though! Could an ace emerge? Maybe Duran will move into the rotation next season with his four-pitch mix?
TopGunn#22 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 It's hard enough to project NEXT year than to try to guess on 2025. There are names we probably aren't even considering that will be in the mix. Heck, I think it would be interesting to speculate on the rotation/bullpen we have after the All Star break !
