dex8425 Verified Member Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 Weird. It's SOOO team friendly. He could still be traded, of course. That's a bargain deal for the best third baseman in MLB, and there's no other bats on that team. I really like Jram though and happy for Cleveland fans.
TopGunn#22 Verified Member Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 This is a smart move for Cleveland. They get some degree of stability, but it also provides "certainty" for teams that might be interested in trading for him. I predict Cleveland will not be very good this season and a trade of Ramirez to a contender is still very much in play.

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 I don't like that Cleveland got such a bargain. Still a lot of money, but he probably would have gotten 30M+ over 8 years or so on the free agent market. If MLB isn't going to fix it's revenue sharing issues, the last teams I want getting bailed out by below market deals are the other AL Central teams.
