I don’t know. Jax was doing a great job of mixing up pitches and locations and getting chase swings before those home runs. The home runs came on center-cut, belt high fastballs.

As former Twins pitcher Kenny Rogers said about fastballs down the middle, you gotta know when to throw ‘em and know when to hold ‘em

My dad is a fellow long standing twins fan (and sufferer). After that first inning, he looked at me and said “let’s hope that’s not the end of the scoring”.

Well, solid start for Jax today. The rookie starters haven't been great, but have certainly been an upgrade from Happ and Shoemaker.

Hey, nice outing by Griffin Jax. I’d love to see them try to give him the seventh inning. Backend of the order, he’s got 83 pitches, let’s see if he can give ys seven innings. I have to admit I’m a little surprised by how well he’s doing, but he might be real.
