twinssporto Verified Member Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 Good evening and welcome back to the Twins Daily Game Thread fun! If you live in Minnesota you know it's really hot here. I know we have TD members scattered around the globe but right now we might be one of the hotter places in the world right now. In Minneapolis we have a dew point over 72, a real feel temp of 108, bright hot sunshine and a major league baseball team that is ICE cold.... I hope we can at least stay close to the Yankees tonight. The lineup is looking better but I have no idea who is playing center field tonight. Here's looking at you Gilberto Celestino! Make the most of it kid. Looks like Buxton is getting closer to coming back. By the way, I went to Tuesday night's game against the Yankees. I can't believe I actually sat through 9 innings of that disaster. Four errors is totally unacceptable. I was sitting about 4 rows behind 3rd base and did see the Turtle make a great grab...also saw a sad error too. After the game on Tuesday against the Yankees and seeing it in person I came to a few conclusions. Number one, this team looks flat. Some may say deflated. Not really sure but this team needs a kick in the pants. Number two, it was so hot Tuesday night I think I lost 12 pounds in water weight watching the game. Number three, I hope my kidneys are starting to function again. Drinking 30 beers and not having to use the restroom can't be a good thing. Any urologists out there? I might need a consult. Anyway, back to tonight's game. I would love to see us pick up one win against the Yankees. I'm not holding my breath but you never know...Let's go Twins!! Tonights lineups: TWINS: 1. Jorge Polanco, 2B 2. Josh Donaldson, 3B 3. Alex Kirilloff, RF 4. Nelson Cruz, DH 5. Trevor Larnach, LF 6. Miguel Sano, 1B 7. Ben Rortvedt, C 8. A. Simmons, SS 9. Gilberto Celestino, CF P - J.A. Happ, L YANKEES: 1. DJ LeMahieu, 2B 2. Aaron Judge, CF 3. Gleyber Torres, SS 4. G. Stanton, DH 5. Gio Urshela, 3B 6. Gary Sanchez, C 7. Miguel Andujar, LF 8. Chris Gittens, 1B 9. Mahoning Verified Member Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 Haven't the Twins already lost this game? It's against the Yankees.
denarded Verified Member Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 I was at the Twins@Cubs game a couple of years ago where Rosario and Kepler I believe were removed from game for heat exhaustion. I also made a bad decision. Sitting on rooftop (all you can drink) and realized two hours after game sitting in bar that I had not gone the bathroom in 6 plus hours. Knew that could not be good

Still have to send dudes in uni's out onto the field, and somebody has to lob the ball toward home plate... contractual obligations and so forth. Is it Happless's turn to be the rocked lobster tonight?
RickOShea Verified Member Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Celestino circles a fly ball to center. A better route could have been more acceptable.

When these guys reach out to serve the ball to the outfield, that's the time to but a fastball in on their wrists. If you hit them, you're no farther behind.

LA Vikes Fan Verified Member Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Wow, is this ugly. Let the drinking begin!
jkcarew Verified Member Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 I never thought in a million years Happ would struggle with the Yankees lineup.
Randy Griffith Verified Member Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 I don't understand how this team just seems to take everything in stride, like it's okay or something. Professionals should be embarrassed to play so poorly. They are losing games in the first inning, before a single Twins player comes to bat. Have some pride and put up a fight, please. I can't bear to watch another 90+ games when the players, coaches, and managers don't have more of a sense of urgency.

RickOShea Verified Member Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 The ineptness of umpiring in major league baseball only exacerbates the terrible play of some teams (Twins).

You may want to think of watching the 2021 Twins as a visit to the dentist... the novocaine is administered before the procedure, not when it starts to hurt.

Ot like a colonoscopy; this will be a bit uncomfortable, but we do have to shove this up your rear.

RickOShea Verified Member Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Jesus, Sanchez should be called 'robot arm'. he jerks a lot everytime he tries to frame a pitch.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Just a matter of time before we see a Twins outfielder brought in via temp agency.
