Race to the bottom?

I've been arguing that the Twins front office should have made a few moves a few weeks back that wouldn't cost alot but the front office has done nothing but sit back and watch the team die. I guess I am ready to give up on this season too and join the race to the bottom.

Its too bad too cause Pohlad spent money this year on payroll and the front office just went on vacation after spring training and said we'll be back after the allstar break to see if we need to do anything. I guess now they do. They need to shed money cause the fans shouldn't want to pay to see this crap and I'm sure Pohlad doesn't want to pay for it either.

So with our loss today we are around 9-10 games below .500. Time to join in with the negative peeps here and start rooting for the race to the bottom and hope we trade enough pieces to make a dent in that race. Kansas City has such a big lead over us as the worst team in the league.

How many players are we gonna have to trade to overtake Chicago and Kansas City in the draft standings? The goal for this trade deadline is not about getting value back as its a buyers market. This is more about ensuring we are so bad we can make up ground in the draft standings.

Good luck to the front office. You cant make moves to win in season, maybe they can do a better job of throwing in the towel.

I don't see them picking 1 overall, but they could easily end up in the top 5 draft picks (given that right now, they are 6th I think)....

Trades: Lynn, Duke, Escobar, and Rodney are all doing well enough that trading them would hurt (or I guess in this case help).

Dozier would likely be traded, but he's not playing well. I could see Gordon or Polanco (or possibly both) out producing him.

They could theoretically keep both Buxton and Sano in the minors all year, though I'd argue that this would be good for both of them, at least until both are consistently hitting for more than a few games.

If I were the front office though, I'd be going hard for a guy like Realmuto. He's controllable for 2 more years. That will probably help the team now.

9th right now, but yeah, still close to the bottom 5. (The bottom 2-3 might be hard to catch)

yeah, I just quickly scanned the win total... There's a cluster of teams around them. They could easily pass 3-5 teams, but I don't see them passing KC or Chicago.

Trade Dozier, Lynn, Rodney, Morrison and Duke for whatever you can get. Sign Escobar to an extension. Line-up for the rest of the season:

Polanco SS

Rosario LF

Escobar 3B

Kepler RF

Vargas/Sano DH

Garver C

Gordon 2B

Buxton CF

Bench
Astudillo

Adrianza

Cave

Vargas/Sano

Rotation:

Berrios

Romero

Gibson

Odorizzi

Santana (until he builds trade value)

Hildy-Closer

Reed

Rodgers

Moya

Buesintz

Duffey

Magill

Pressly (perhaps trade him if any value)
