They play 3 games in Oakland, then 4 games to end the season vs. Oakland in Texas. We need the Matts (Olsen/Chapman/Joyce) to hit some bombs. I'm predicting that Texas goes 4-3 against the A's. But that might be hopeful.

If the Twins win 4 more games (which is <.500 and probably worst-case), neither the Angels nor the Rangers have much of a chance as they will have to win 7 just to tie (.700). Don't worry about what the other teams do, this is on the Twins. Plus, the post-trade Tigers seem to be utterly useless. How many wins did the Indians get from the Tigers during their winning streak? 7, which is 1/3 of the wins on the streak.
oldguywithanitch Verified Member Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 Can the Twins go 5 and 4 the rest of the way? 4 out of 6 vs Detroit and 1 of 3 vs Cleveland? Then Texas would have to go 8 and 2 to tie. I like the Twins' chances. So nice to control your own destiny.

Their two best starters going tomorrow and Sunday. I do hope they skip Colon on Tuesday and go Mejia, Gibson and Santana against Cleveland next week to try and salvage 1 win against the Indians.

That had to be a pre-determined pitch count, not danger of melting -- because he wasn't.
