Tracking Pitchers Used in a Season Record

Twinkietown had an article discussing the number of pitchers used in a single season. Here is a link to the article:

By simply going to a Twins stat sight and counting how many players have pitched for the Twins, one can find that we have now used a franchise record 34 pitchers this year only 6 behind the MLB record set by the Rangers. This counts Gimenez who has made too many appearances but does not count recent call up Curtiss who has yet to pitch. Will we get to 40? 41? Who would be those pitchers? Curtiss, Gonsalves, and ?

I also remember reading but could not find a reference to the record for number of starters used in a year. At this point, 16 different pitchers have started a game for the Twins in 2017.

As we continue to blow away our clubs previous record, I thought it would be fun to have a thread for us to track and discuss the number of pitchers used and how we will break the records and still win the wild card.

Great topic.

This was one of the over/unders that I made in late April. It is safe to say that the Twins will have obliterated the over/under that I picked. IIRC I picked the high mark (Twins) for both options.

The amazing thing is that despite the continual churn the Twins are still in the playoff chase.

For as many pitchers we've used, I think Seattle mariners have used more. They are at around 37. They are also chasing the Rangers pitchers used record (40) as well as their overall players used (60).
