This is interesting.  Joe West was suspended for inappropriate comments regarding Adrian Beltre.

Interesting how the MLB umpires union works.  I guy can't be suspended / or fired because he is a bad umpire.  But...

Good.  About time that baseball starts to fine and suspend umpires, like it does with the rest of the participants. 

 

Glad to see the Teflon wearing away.  Hopefully with the new CBA, umpires will be held accountable for what they do on the field.  And if they don't like it, let them strike.  The effect will be the same as that of their last strike

Seems more or less fair. As the article states, players generally can't insult umps. I'm not sure West's comments were that bad but ...
