Much like drjim, I'm in the conservative camp when it comes to Gonsalves. He'll probably get the call to AAA soon enough, but whatever the FO is looking for, he must not have mastered it yet in Chattanooga. 

 

I think it's control/command they are looking for. His last couple starts have shown that, but it was fairly shaky when he started. I think Stephen will be in Rochester fairly soon.

Felix Jorge getting the start on Saturday, I get the feeling that will be a rough one.

I feel that both Gonsalves and Romero should be in Rochester ASAP. Gonsalves looks just like the pitcher he was last year with far better control. The home runs he gives up are a little concerning, but he is the type of pitcher who can make adjustments on the spot. Romero is literally heating up and now looks "comfortable" in AA, and if he moves to AAA he can pitch the rest of the season in Rochester working on his change up. I don't want him up in Minnesota if he hasn't improved his changeup as it's more important to keep him on the course as a starter rather than allow him to be a reliever with only a fastball and a slider.

Doesn't matter. Get him up, get him a taste, and let's let the selfish fans (e.g. me) see what can do. Even if he's bad, would he be any more than marginally worse than whoever was next on the retread carousel?

Surprising move for sure. Maybe he can ambush them for a start. But I agree, not overly optimistic.

If you wait until someone is 100% ready (how would you ever know, btw?) to give them an assignment, you aren't running your business the right way. people need to be stretched and challenged to grow. There may be legit things these guys need to work on, but waiting for some mythical time when they are 100%/developed is not how the world works.
