Oakdale Principal Joe Slavin found dead

It was the top story on Fox 9 news and I'm sure the other Twin Cities stations will make it one of their top stories at 10. Joe was found dead this morning in a park in Woodbury. I know many of you who are regulars here live in the Twin Cities, so you may know or have heard of Joe. In addition to being a principal in Oakdale, he was on the school board of the South Washington County District. He was also my friend. I went to school with Joe. He was a grade ahead of me. I mostly knew him because his girlfriend, my classmate, (now widow) had the locker next to mine in high school. Joe was the shortstop of the high school baseball team his senior year. RIP Joe. Prayers to your wife and three girls.

I'm not local to the Twin Cities anymore, so I don't know of Joe personally, but I'm so sorry that your connection to him makes this even more painful news.
