According to Mike Berardino, outfielder Drew Stubb was informed this morning that he will not make the Twins Opening Day roster and has decided to opt-out of his deal.

He says he is hoping for an Opening Day job, but if he doesn't find out, he will then re-evaluate and could return to the Twins.

“I think they gave me my fair share of looks,” he said. “I just didn’t pull my end of the deal and do what I needed to do. I appreciate the chances they gave me. I feel like everybody around here has been great to me in that aspect. When you have to come in and earn a spot, it’s up to you to do your thing. I just didn’t quite do it this year.”

Also, RHP Drew Rucinski has been reassigned to minor league camp.

I think that was the right decision for the Twins. And Stubbs could return in a minor league capacity if no one else picks him up.
