beckmt Verified Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Most of the Twins starting pitching will not be seen until at least the middle of 2017 if not later. You have to figure out who needs to be protected and then who you have to get rid of to make it happen. Those who wanted the front office change, have a problem here. A new GM may well not be established until around the end of the world series and these decisions have to be made shortly thereafter, do trust the current establishment to do it right. Plouffe and Milone are the only two current roster pieces that I feel are surely gone. Suzuki is another spot, but who after that. Easy are Dean and a couple of other pieces, who do not have a big future here. Would not add Wheeler(you have better choices coming(but would try and trade him, with another piece for something better and further away)). Maybe you need to trade some close(lower) prospects to a team with a A+ or A player they are down on that you think is better.Patience is a virtue in this game. See how things play out.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Good lord, why is there even a consideration of keeping Plouffe? Undo that mistake as quickly as possible. Give Sano some run at 3B next year and Vargas at DH before we make a decision on either. And get Plouffe the hell out of the way of that. d-mac and Vanimal46 2
