you know, back when his career peeked at C, I remember talking to a friend and agreeing he was already an HOFer.  He's had a couple of bad seasons, but I'm not sure how that suddenly disqualifies him. Yeah, he won't ever be the power hitting 1B, but he was one of the best catchers to ever play the game.

Newer voters who look more at advanced numbers should help Mauer. Playing x number of years being an average 1B/DH won't help.
